So +Malcolm Turnbull reckons he's serious about cyber security , but he wants to continue using one of the most insecure operating systems available?

Microsoft Windows based operating systems are notoriously insecure and many Government computers even still run Windows XP!

If +Malcolm Turnbull was truly concerned about cyber security, he should start by replacing every Government computer with one running a Linux based operating system (such as Ubuntu)...

Otherwise, the Australian Government still has one awfully big chink in its armour, irrespective of how much it spends!

So rather than simply changing the law to outlaw discrimination against same-sex marriages... The Government wants to spend $525m to give people a choice on whether to discriminate or not?

Please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks this is completely retarded?

It makes me wonder how these guys even get a job in politics, especially when the Government is forever whinging it doesn't have any money...

A PLEBISCITE on marriage equality is not only a massive waste of taxpayer money but is helping perpetuate a wave of hate against gay, lesbian and transgender people.

This is the future of mobile devices...

I'm not convinced that "regular" computers will be going away anytime soon, but +Ubuntu's "one device, multiple forms/uses" concept is most certainly the future of mobile devices (i.e. smartphones, phablets and tablets).

Check it out, because this is pretty impressive, even more so when you stop to consider that this isn't even the finished product!

Australians travelling to New Zealand no longer have to worry about exorbitant roaming fees, or even paying a daily fee, with news that Vodafone is making its usual AU$5 Roaming charge free for trips to NZ.

So whilst I was walking to work today, I took this photo of +McDonald's Australia Elizabeth...

At the top of the flag-pole is the Maccas flag, crumpled-up on the ground is the Australian flag and there was no McDonald's staff members anywhere in sight!

Disgraceful, especially with military bases in such close proximity...

Awesome, it looks like +Square Enix might finally be bringing some of their games to +Linux-based operating systems, such as +Steam OS and +Ubuntu...

Starting with the 2013 version of +Tomb Raider!

Let's hope this is not the last game +Square Enix bring to +Linux-based operating systems... I'd love to be able to play Rise of the +Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy VII on a Steam Machine!

Story

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.
Introduction
My name is Greg and I am a fun-loving, urban cowboy from the Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia), with a deep love of music, animals and gaming. Further to this, I am unashamedly a big, BIG fan of pretty much everything Disney (including the films!), with enthusiasm for anything related to computers, telecommunications and technology in general.

In addition to the above, I am also a passionate advocate of Open Source software, such as Linux-based operating systems (like Ubuntu and SteamOS). For various reasons, I don't really code much, but when time permits, I instead try to contribute to Open Source projects like MusicBrainz and OpenStreetMap.

With regards to social networking, I don't do the "social" part of social networking - I might love technology, but I still believe some things should remain primarily offline (don't even get me started about the stupidity of online dating!)... If I had to pick a social network that I use most often though, it would be Twitter (I only really pop-in to Google+ every now and then for something different).

In saying this, I mostly use Twitter for sharing interesting stuff I find online and occasionally voicing my thoughts on a topic - if you want to follow me on Twitter, head over here.
Bragging rights
I grew up in a circus; walked from the Gold Coast to Sydney (and skateboarded back!); sung at the (Sydney) Opera House and in the professional production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
