Just wrapped up the Hallow's End prep work with just a day to spare... Pumpkin bought, carved, seeds washed, seeds toasted, kids put to bed, candy stocked and placed in bowls... and of course pumpkin documented. Even remembered to get the LED votives out... although for this shot, a LumoPro LP-160 gave the oomph inside the pumpkin!

Every voice helps. Let your Representatives know you stand against SOPA! I'm encouraged with the number of non technical people, family and friends I hear talking about this today.
Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.. Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Sena...

The lesson was to photograph a local export of some kind. I chose wine, an admittedly more commercial rather than cultural export. We produce a lot of it in and around the Sacramento Metropolitan area. I have favorites from every county around here, including Napa, Sonoma, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado… This one happens to hail from Amador which I think is my favorite nook of the nearby wine world, though it is hard to choose sometimes.

Just got back from Roseville High School's Greenhouse with the wife and kids. We went to see (and smell!) the corpse flower in bloom there today.

No matter the advances in telecom, never underestimate the bandwidth of physical media crammed into a FedEx envelope. Time to go transmit a REALLY big packet...

Not enough of my friends are early adopters and I have to split my time between more than one social network. Also, the newest network doesn't have an actual app for my iPhone and iPod so I'm forced to use a web-app #FirstWorldProblems

This is a weird feeling. I'm on a social network with no one to network with. On the other hand, it has that fresh and new feeling. Like a fresh OS install when there's nothing on the desktop yet...

So excited! My son just took his first steps about a month after his twin sister. We caught this one on video because we were actually home!  #kids   #parenting  (Excuse the cheesy title intro)

I sure hope they speed this up. I would like to move to Google+ as my primary social networking medium, but I feel that it is held back by a lack of key features. Third party access is a big one.

Tomorrow is National Hot Dog Day! We decided to indulge early at the office and did lunch at the Smash Burger in Roseville, CA. Burger you say? They do great hot dogs as well! As far as I'm concerned, pizza should be NY style and hot dogs should be Chicago style. Read: No ketchup bub. Nicely done Smash Burger!
