Facebook check-in stats are going crazy! I'm wondering if they are finally getting all the duplicates combined. For example, the API says +Blue Mountain Resort has 9,735. On their page that number is 118,432! Watching this one closely...anyone know what's up?

When I looked at the industry social stats after this morning's data pull I saw that total combined Facebook fans for all North American resorts had reached 3,000,000 sometime yesterday evening. Pretty impressive number.

When I see "Got Milk" posters (ads) in school cafeterias and Monster Energy rails in terrain parks, and can't help but ask the question - how can ski resorts tap into this concept of free branded gear = advertising? A few thoughts / ideas.
