When I looked at the industry social stats after this morning's data pull I saw that total combined Facebook fans for all North American resorts had reached 3,000,000 sometime yesterday evening. Pretty impressive number.

When I see "Got Milk" posters (ads) in school cafeterias and Monster Energy rails in terrain parks, and can't help but ask the question - how can ski resorts tap into this concept of free branded gear = advertising? A few thoughts / ideas.

Now 66 ski resorts on Google+, about 15% the number on Facebook and 20% that are on Twitter.

Just updated the ski resort social dashboards. They now include individual rankings and full ranking lists for each metric. Plus, Klout scores have also been added.

Facebook check-in stats are going crazy! I'm wondering if they are finally getting all the duplicates combined. For example, the API says +Blue Mountain Resort has 9,735. On their page that number is 118,432! Watching this one closely...anyone know what's up?
