2013 was about #Across #America, disassembling and reassembling HB-SIA to cross the USA.
2014 will be about finalizing and #unveiling HB-SIB!

Weird that it's still snowing with no clouds in the sky. ;-)

Just reserved my spot in line to upgrade to the new Glass. I decided to stick with the same color: shale. #throughglass

We watched this video today in place of our normal Java 8 coding dojo. This presentation really drives home the new features of Java 8, how to use them, and why.

Happy New Year +Robert Burns!

I have been saying this many many times, but I will say this again. Thanks for your early support. It means a lot to us. We have been improving the quality of our product with your reviews and the suggestions. We would like to now return the favor and give you something that will make you feel special.

Please share this post and tag one of the Glass explorers you are thankful for this year. We will send Happy New Year 2014 Gpop to your special friend.

So who do you have in mind?

I will start first!  +Andy Kwan who has been with Gpop since the beginning.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in the area. The food is very good and I can eat as little or as much as I want. They have a large selection of sushi. I love being able to pick and choose and try different types of sushi. The service is great too. They're quick to remove your empty plate or refill your drink or bring your check.

"Slow" would be too kind. Glacial pace is more accurate. The food is good, but nothing special. The price is good though. If you're looking to kill some time and you're on a budget, this place is for you.

Worst pizza place I've been to. You couldn't pay me to go back. The crust is so hard it hurts your teeth to bite it. If you want pizza by the slice, they take a slice of cold pre-made cheese pizza, put your toppings on it and throw it back in the oven for a few minutes. Yuck! This results in a very hard crust, toppings that fall off when you try to eat it, and the cheese wasn't even reheated. Also, it was summer and I don't think they had A/C - it must have been 100 degrees in there and the owner/manager was sweating all over the place -- yeah, real sanitary. I have to give him credit, he was working hard to try to keep up with the lunch rush and it was just him and a clueless cashier who couldn't seem to do anything. Must have been her first day.

The food is good. It's not any better than any other sushi restaurant in the area. The service is good. The wait staff is very nice and helpful. However, these guys are cheap-skates. They want free advertising. Don't fall for their coupon scams. I purchased a 1/2 off coupon gift certificate and attempted to use it for lunch. Since I was paying with a gift certificate, I was not allowed to use it for any of the lunch specials, so I ended up paying more than if I had just bought the lunch special without the coupon. The purpose of a 1/2 off coupon is to attract people who wouldn't normally come to your restaurant. It's a form of advertising. As a business owner, you have to pay for that. Not these guys, they bait and switch you. They sucker you in with the coupon and then tell you that you have to pay the full dinner price at lunch in order to use the coupon that you've already paid for. So your choice is pay the lunch price and then you don't get to use the coupon that you paid for or use the coupon and pay even more. I'm not going back.
