Good article on Facebook's approach to research, not separate from engineering, not part of engineering, but just open. Love it. Here's an excerpt with some details of one part of how it works: "So [those engineers] will actually be able to go to [Flow] and browse every single experiment and production model that is running across the entire company, be able to take modules [and use them for their own purposes]. I always encourage people to beg, borrow, and steal. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel ... It's one place that takes you from research all the way to live experiments, and then if we're doing an experiment that 1% of people interact with, and it looks good, then we start rolling it out to 100% of the people"
