Introduction
Greg Janda is an Emmy-nominated journalist, educator, digital media specialist, and professional problem solver.

Greg will be teaching Journalism at Timber Creek High School in Keller Independent School District starting in August 2014.

Previously, Greg worked for NBC Universal at KXAS-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth as a digital journalist on NBCDFW.com. He worked for KXAS-TV/NBC 5 from 2006 to 2014, creating and editing features for on-air and online. His work covered news, events, food and drink, lifestyle, sports, entertainment, politics, and more. Greg's work has been featured on national websites and gone viral on Facebook and Twitter.

As the Lifestyle and Features Editor for NBC 5 from 2008 to 2012, Greg oversaw the Around Town and The Scene sections for NBCDFW.com and contributed to the development and production of two television programs on the DFW Nonstop channel. In 2010, Greg was the conceptual creator and online driving force for DFW 2020, a 30-minute on-air special that looked at the Dallas-Fort Worth area 10 years in the future. The program was nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award and featured a robust online component with exclusive articles and analysis.

Before joining NBC 5, Greg worked as the Operations Manager for North Texas Television at the University of North Texas. He helped the station transition to a 24/7 automated channel, trained students and volunteers on video production equipment, and produced television programming including live news, live sports, entertainment, comedy, lifestyle, and public affairs programming.

Greg has returned to UNT multiple times as a guest lecturer for newscast production courses and supported educating future broadcasters as the coordinator for the Web portion of internships at NBC 5 through 2013. His focus on educating journalists continues in his new teaching role.

Between all his other roles, Greg has continued to work as a freelance web designer and has helped small businesses reach their digital goals with websites, e-mail newsletters, digital graphics, and other elements.
