Treefort on Ramblers' Retreat
As Boise gears up for the start of another Treefort Music Fest, I'm gearing up for another episode of Ramblers' Retreat. I'm bringing in music from a number of Treefort artists tomorrow, featuring what I believe will be the Radio Boise premiere of the new record from Lee Penn Sky and The Oliphants.

Beyond Treefort, I have brand new music from Mali, Brazil, and Spain. There will be plenty of Americana and blues and plain old folk music from right here in Idaho, around the Pacific Northwest, and across the good ol' USA.

Ramblers' Retreat is my weekly radio show, featuring a broad swath of traditional and new folk music with a regional focus and an international flavor.

The show airs every Wednesday morning from 6:00 to 8:00 Mountain time on community radio station KRBX which transmits from my hometown of Caldwell, Idaho. It can be heard across the Treasure Valley on 89.9 FM and online everywhere on http://radioboise.org.

2015 Treefort Music Fest Folk/Roots/World Playlist
The Treefort Music Fest is one of the more interesting things to happen to Boise in the past few years. Now in its third year, it's expanding across genres more than ever. This year there are more bands that will appeal to those who like their music a bit more rootsy.

So here is my personal Treefort playlist which, like my radio show, features a broad swath of folk music with a regional focus and an international flavor. I've included folk, roots, and world music artists, and I found a healthy dose of bluegrass bands from Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Think of this as The Ramblers' Guide to Treefort.

Ramblers' Retreat Themes
I'm on the lookout for themes for upcoming episodes of Ramblers' Retreat. I have a Mardi Gras theme planned for this week, and a couple of Ash Wednesday songs for the week after. In March, I'll have show for St. Patrick's Day and of course a show for Treefort.

I'm looking for your ideas for themes - other holidays including obscure ones, folk music from specific countries or regions, roots-based genres, past masters, instruments, and any other type of person place or thing I haven't mentioned.

I'm also ready for your ideas for what to play for St. Patrick's Day and for any roots-based Treefort bands I should be sure to include.

Introduction
I like to ramble, particularly around my home state of Idaho. I write about music for RootsWorld magazine, and I host a weekly radio show, Ramblers' Retreat. And I raise cavies.
