Chef Paul Qui's first foray in food trailers, this is the original at The Liberty. Try the fried brussel sprouts, pork belly bun and veggie meshie. Now there is a location in North Austin at Hole in the Wall. Each location has a slightly different menu. I hear the ramen is good at HITW.

Not sure about the psycho reviewer who said it was white people's Mexican food. She obviously did not order the Brushfire Taco which was the first one I ever had. It's deliciously spicy/hot. My only gripe? I wish the Mr. Orange taco which features grilled salmon was on the menu year round instead of being a taco of the month. I love this place and pretty much cannot drive past it without stopping for a taco or two. UPDATE: Mr, Orange is on the permanent menu. Thank you Torchy's.

I had the opportunity to preview The Buzz Mill before they officially opened. The beer selection was good, Blue Ox BBQ was amazing. I was told their smoker used to belong to Franklin BBQ. The location is in a spot that sorely needed a 24-hour coffee spot. The Eastside has Bennu but that is near UT and not South on East Riverside. The Blue Ox chef told us for Lumberjack Breakfast on Sunday's they will be serving crepes wrapped around custom-cured bacon. Plus, they have a live music stage. I could live here.

Bouldin Creek Cafe is the spot to hit when you want tasty, healthy, vegan options in a relaxed setting. They recently moved further south on !st Street to a larger and nice location that now includes table service. I personally know one of the chefs and I can assure you his taste in ingredients, experience in the kitchen and commitment to quality cooking shine through every time I eat here. The Veggie Royale sandwich with spicy chipolte-pesto mayo is amazing. Their custom coffee drinks are good too.

Not a bad seat in the house. In fact, no seat is further than 70 feet from the stage. ACL Live is my favorite indoor music venue downtown. Check out the photos by Jim Marshall on the Mezzanine Level

My friend, Emily (a foodie photographer) invited me to a television taping at East Side King located behind The Liberty in East Austin. I had been admonished by my foodie friends for not trying it sooner, so there I was. Emily grabbed a few items for us to try; Fried Brussel Sprouts - Initially, my response was something like, "hmm, brussel sprouts, not sure about this" but my misgivings were not warranted. The dish was amazing. A mixture of thai, chinese and american food that still has me waxing nostalgic about the first bite. Sticky buns with pork belly - You know those buns they serve for dim sum? Imagine one of those wrapped around the most delicious piece of pork/bacon you can imagine and add hoisin sauce. Delectable. Veggie meshi - This was like a thai, spicy cole slaw with fish sauce, lemon juice, soy sauce and I don't know what else but it was amazing like the other dishes. I often find myself trying to steer friends in the direction of The Liberty when I am hungry. Oh, and the value is amazing too. No dish over $8 most around $3 or $4 served in a paper boat. Not fancy, but with food this good, who cares?
