PROS: Great scenery. Next door to restaurants, 7/11 and redbox. Close to Carol Stream Library and major bus hook-ups. Large apartments. Spacious with plenty of room. CONS: Here is the lie behind the glamour: Management is inept, argumentative, and lies to get you in the door. One young lady in the office is particularly cold and rude to deal with. After the first year, my apartment went up over $100 extra a month after lease renewal. When dealing with broken appliances or something else breaks, management asks "Well what did you do to it?!" The maintenance gentlemen who come to fix it, however, are very pleasant. When neighbors are blasting music, the Greenway will not get involved or enforce their policies of noise disturbances; they tell you to "be a neighbor and knock on the door to tell them to stop." ...I don't think so. They even get upset when you call the cops over said disturbance (ie. get used to the noise and having zero sleep). When I lived there, they demanded that if I even thought of getting a cat, that it must be spayed/neutered AND declawed. That is non-negotiable(!). Zero dogs allowed. They lied about a gym being built after my recent move-in, to entice my decision their way: never saw a single piece of equipment until the day I moved out to hand them the keys two years later. If you want to break your lease, it will be two monthly payments of your rent, plus the final month's rent (rent x3). So be careful before you sign. There are a litany of other offenses, but I wanted to keep this short and to the point. While Greenway is a very large compound, you will be spending $1,000 for a one bedroom and a horrendous amount for a two. Not worth the effort when the management is so backwards and ludicrous to deal with.

Great apartment complex, nice neighborhood. Mgmt pays all utilities (Water, Heat, Garbage disposal) except electricity. All new washer & dryer...One & half bath is owesome!! Or you can pick 1 full bath + washer dryer. Full bath is attached to your room, & we didn't want guests entering our room to use bathroom, so we picked half bath instead of washer dryer. Reasonable rent. Everything was perfect except the nasty neighbor upstairs!!!

I just moved out of The Greenway. It was an okay place to live, but the new management is TERRIBLE!!!! They do a horrible job of getting back to you on any issues with your apartment. The rent goes up considerably every time you renew your lease! They also stopped heating the pool to save money. The hallways look like a slum, and when you ask if they can at least paint, they have someone slap a coat of paint on that does not even cover the scuffs and holes in the wall. Also, do not expect to get your security deposit back when you move out. You are expected to leave the apartment exactly as it was when you moved in even if you were there for 3 and a half years!! Expected to clean carpet, paint walls, and fix the blinds that were bent on one corner... The management is very unfair, and I know a lot of my neighbors were also moving out due to all of these issues with the management. I would not move into these apartments unless you like being treated unfairly, and like throwing money in the garbage!
