Green Planning Studio has successfully obtained Planning Permission at a Planning Appeal for three individual designed eco-houses with detached double garages on a plot of land in Beck Row, Mildenhall, Suffolk.

The Planning Inspector concluded that Forest Heath District Council could not demonstrate a 5-year supply of housing land. Green Planning Studio successfully argued that the Council should not be able to eliminate a substantial backlog by merely publishing a new objectively assessed need.

Green Planning’s Architects and Planning experts designed each of the eco-houses, which sit in a large individual plot of land, to have solar and PV panels, a small vertical wind turbine and underground heat pump coils.

Each of these 4 bedroomed eco-houses is of a contemporary design in their rural setting and has been designed to a very high specification with extensive feature glazing to take full advantage of the available views.

Green Planning Studio has obtained outline planning permission for a development of 16 houses, including 8 affordable units, in the Green Belt in Epping Forest. The proposal includes the trading-in of a large garden centre, ancillary buildings and parking area for a development of 16 detached houses around a village green and the re-establishment of an existing pond.

In discussions with the Council, recent case law was used to prove that the entirety of the site could be classified as previously developed land. The development now provides Epping Forest with some much-needed market and affordable houses in a sustainable location.

Green Planning Studio have a feature in the Autumn Edition of At Home magazine in Sarah Beeny's Homes & Property Issue.

The article features a guide on when to start thinking about getting planning permission and the things you need to consider before you start.

Find out when to start thinking about planning permission, if planning permission is actually needed and how to make an application in the October edition of At Home Magazine with Sarah Beeny.

"Planning ahead: The most important decision for most projects is obtaining planning permission. Consent will be required for many extensions. You may have decided to keep within your permitted development rights, but it may be more sensible to go for more and make the most of your home for your family, thus enhancing its value."

Read more in the At Home magazine digital edition.

If the article whets your appetite and you want to get in touch with your questions or to find out how we can help you obtain planning permission for your project, please contact us where our friendly staff will be happy to help.
