Laying for an hour in several gallons of super-salinated water in a sensory deprivation chamber might sound pretty strange but it might be the best escape youve ever had.

A concise piece covering some history of flotation and the experience itself
On Fringe, a sensory deprivation tank can activate your mental powers and even open a gateway to another universe. But what can floating in a dark warm tank do for you in real life? And why would people even want to do such a thing?

I went to gravity spa a couple weeks ago-- what a neat experience. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was clean and calming. There are two reasons I'm giving 3 out of 5 stars. The first is because while my massage was good (as in, hurts so good) my therapist worked my left side substantially more than my right. If she did something 5 times, for example on my left, she'd only do it 2 times on my right. It felt good but it was NOT a balanced massage. Now I can say, two weeks later, my left side is STILL sore. I actually had to schedule a massage, at a different place, to try to work out soreness. Anyway, the second reason is because for DAYS after my float, I had water in my ears. Now I will say that ear plugs were provided but they weren't really sold as something to use. The person explaining the float tank kind of mentioned the ear plugs stating we may want to use them if we have swimmers ear or a history of ear infections-- but she doesnt use them. Please, whatever you do-- USE them! Unless you like crunchy water sounds in your ears for days and days! (I eventually got the water out by a 1:1 blend of rubbing alcohol and vinegar dropped in my ear) Will I go back? Probably. Would I recommend it?- surely! I will ask for a different therapist and wear ear plugs, though ;)

Went for an hour massage with an hour long float (after massage) today. Very clean and very relaxing. The massage was excellent. Loved the low key environment!

I went to Gravity Spa with my girlfriend to float in the sensory deprivation tanks. The staff was friendly and professional. However, my primary complaint was the overwhelming smell of tea tree oil used to clean the tanks. The odor was so potent, in fact, that I never acclimated to it. Needless to say, it was impossible to achieve a state of relaxation.

I have been to Gravity Spa three times now and I absolutely love it. The staff is always polite, helpful, and never pushy. The facility is always clean and has a warm, relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend it for anyone considering a float.

This is one of my favorite places. The environment is cozy, homey and a tiny bit industrial. Super clean and They have the friendliest staff on the planet. I am always spoiled rotten when I go. Noah is an amazing masseuse. My muscles never felt more loved! So much tension melted right away. Floating in the isolation tanks is the best most relaxing reset Ever. I have a lot going on in my brain all day, lots of demands of me and floating is the most perfect quiet to unload and dream again with no interruptions or demands. ❤️❤️❤️

We love gravity spa! Have been to several massage therapists there, and all were great. Owners and staff are very friendly! Gravity Spa also takes "spa & wellness" gift cards from Target, so we added them to our wedding registry. Perfect for couple's massages.

Inviting place once you step inside. Very nice owners & staff. Reassuring. Not pushy. I'm claustrophobic. They allowed me to float with the door open both times I went. Drawback: open door lets warmth out of chamber. Melony suggested I use a rolled up towel to keep the door ajar next time. I'll do that. Definitely going to be a next time. :-)
