It's down to the final 12 hours....

Here's a chance for you, from any nation or country, to be a part of an actual space mission. This endeavor is being carried out by citizens from around the globe of all backgrounds. We as citizens of this pale blue dot have a passion for what lies beyond the next horizon and together we can do great things. Come join me and my fellow supporters in realizing this dream!
Bill Nye, CEO, The Planetary Society is raising funds for LightSail: A Revolutionary Solar Sailing Spacecraft on Kickstarter! Unlimited free energy from the sun will provide CubeSat propulsion and revolutionize access to space for low-cost citizen projects.

The two lane section had ended so he simply merging into the single lane. Also you flying up on him so fast and blasting your horn, it looked more like he was startled and pulling over to give you room. You don't own the roads and its bad riders like you posting this crap that give the rest of us a bad rap.

Wow...... yet another one......
Tulsa County reserve deputy Bob Bates said he thought he was holding a stun gun when he shot and killed 44-year-old Eric Harris on April 2nd as Harris struggled with deputies trying to arrest him. (April 12)

This needs to happen. Without reform its only a matter of time before mass corruption takes over with the unhindered gathering of everyones personal data.
Read our letter to U.S. House and Senate leadership on how our surveillance laws should be changed. Then add your name to show your support. #United4NSAReform

This is unbelievable...... I know most cops are good and believe in helping the community but if there's a bad one in their ranks, I would hope they would step up and get those bad apples out of there.

The value of sousveillance has been demonstrated again: "A Louisiana man was paid $50 to deliver a summons in a brutality case to a police officer, as he left a courthouse. The man was arrested and charged with assaulting the officer; the claim was that he had fought with the officer, striking him hard enough to move him back several feet. Charges were supported by two ADAs at the scene. For two years, prosecution against the man proceeded.

"Unfortunately for these particular, conniving officers, the ADAs, and the DA, the man had asked his wife and nephew to film him delivering the summons so he could prove he had done so. Eventually, the case came to the jurisdiction of the Louisiana State AG's office - where all charges were promptly dropped. The man is currently pursuing a civil-rights lawsuit against the law enforcement officials involved."

Good cops need to erase any sense of protectiveness toward bastards like these.  Most cops are heroes, doing a very hard job!  If they want to be viewed that way, they must adapt to this new era and help to eliminate the thugs. Our trust will then be their own best defense.

What the officers and attorneys did not know was that he had one critical piece of evidence on his side: grainy cell phone videos shot by his wife and nephew.

gravity defying ice cube

Just made fresh ice cubes a few hours back and open up my freezer to see one of them grew a column straight up about an ⅛ wide by about an 1½ tall.....

Another Great Kickstarter Campaign going on right now that everyone could be a part of.  This is science at its best!

A message from our Director of Development Richard Chute on The Planetary Society's historic, goal-smashing ‪#‎LightSail‬ Kickstarter campaign this week.
This month, at the same time that The Planetary Society is launching the long-anticipated LightSail prototype for a shakedown cruise, we are excited to launch another “first”—our first-ever Kickstarter campaign.

If you don't have cable and still wanna watch the show StarTalk, I just found it on Hulu
This week’s theme is “Star Trek” as Inspiration for the Future. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson sits down with actor, author and activist George Takei to discuss how the once-futuristic scenarios in “Star Trek” relate to many of today’s moral and social issues.

+Grant Lanning Seems people with their video phones, cameras, and other media, are doing more to do that, than the police are willing to do on their own.
A cop shoots a fleeing man in the back, after a traffic stop.
The man ran for whatever reason, and after a tumble with the cop, he pulls his side arm and fires repeatedly at the man as he runs away, killing him.
In Ferguson, the situation was different.
But I say, a cop or anyone, shooting someone in the back is both vicious and cowardly.

+Grant Lanning Where I live, there's Comcast Xfinity, with it's cable connection. Satellite internet, like Hughesnet, which I have heard nearly nothing about.
And Fios, which is Verison.  But Fios is only offered through a fiber optic connection.
No fiber, no Fios.
I use Comsat Xfinity, which serves me just fine at home.  I've never had a speed issue, even with wifi.
Now, I understand that one of the requirements of Net Neutrality, is that anyone and everyone, with an internet web site, will be required to purchase a license to operate their site on the net.
