Did you know that Camden has its very own beach? That's right, Laite Memorial Beach, just a short distance down Bay View Street from our Inns. Great for a sunset stroll, an afternoon swim on a warm summer's day, or a picnic lunch, Laite Beach offers fantastic views of the Camden Hills and the distant islands of Penobscot Bay. Don't miss on your next trip to ‪#‎Camden‬.

This photo was taken a couple of years ago, but is a timeless classic of the Schooner Olad rounding Curtis Island outside of Camden Harbor on a beautiful summer afternoon. Step aboard the Olad or one of several other historic daysailers this summer, all of which depart for a memorable 2-hour tour right in front of the luxurious Grand Harbor Inn.

Another weekend trek for Matthew & Trapper. This time they ventured up to Ocean Lookout on Mt. Megunticook in nearby Camden Hills State Park. This is a bit more rigorous than last weekend's hike up Bald. However, still manageable by most weekend warriors in reasonably good physical shape. The view at the top is unbeatable and well worth the journey. Today's trek was around 4 miles as we created a loop across Tablelands Trail over to Mt. Battie. Two peaks bagged in less than 2-hours, not bad for a beautiful and very warm spring day. ‪#‎Camden‬ ‪#‎hiking‬ ‪#‎lordcamdeninn‬ ‪#‎grandharborinn‬ ‪#‎OceanLookout‬

+Grand Harbor Inn  has recently become an official lodging partner of Clean the World, a non-profit organization that collects, recycles and distributes discarded soaps and other hotel hygiene amenities to communities in need. Since 2009, Clean the World has distributed more than 20 million bars of soap to children and families in more than 96 countries worldwide. As a side benefit, they fulfill an environmental mission by collecting hotel waste that would otherwise go into landfills. We stayed at the Grand Harbor Inn over 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful time. We stayed in room #1, with a balcony right over the harbor. We saw the fireworks from our balcony! The room was absolutely gorgeous, well equipped, and very comfortable. They accommodated my special dietary requests without hesitation, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.

The Grand Harbor Inn is the most expensive hotel in Camden. Yes the rooms are lovely, and some of the views are nice. The problem is the noise. We reserved 2 rooms in the inn, on either side of the building. Both rooms had such excessive noise from outside external sources, that it was impossible to sleep with any windows open. The AC/Heat units in the rooms are so loud that it was impossible to sleep with them on, and we either froze or sweltered if we turned them off. Our room overlooked the parking lot, and got the smell of bad cooking oil, plus the noise from other AC units, and cooking fans constantly. When the kitchen staff went outside to smoke, we had that smell also. The room on the harbor side of the hotel was no better. The family member staying there complained of the excessive noise outside, and had the same issue with the HVAC in the bedroom. We couldn't use the balcony seating at all because of noise, and how dirty it was. This was not up to the level of our expectations and for the excessive price, was a serious disappointment. We will never stay there again!

Response from the owner - a year ago
Dear Theresa, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I sincerely apologize that your expectations were not met and that the noise levels were disruptive to you during your stay. We certainly appreciate that you felt our rooms were lovely overall and that the views were nice. Being located right on Camden Harbor in the heart of Camden Village, we are fortunate to have the best views of any hotel in town, but realize that our premier location amongst the majestic schooners and scenic boardwalk can create excitement and some noise during the daytime hours. It is good to know that our town quiets down early each evening as restaurants close typically by 9pm even on the weekends. We do strive to create positive and indelible memories for guests and any shortcoming are unacceptable, so please again accept our my sincerest apology. We certainly hope your next visit to Camden is much more positive and enjoyable. Sincerely, Matthew Levin Managing Director
