Interested in education technology? Please join our almost-ready-to-launch #HOUEdTech group at https://groups.google.com/d/forum/houedtech. (I figured we'd use Google Groups rather than Meetup.com because more educators use Google than Meetup.)

If you have any questions, please ask! If you know anyone who'd be interested in joining, please share this with them. And if you want to know why we need to improve the intersection of education and technology, here are a few reasons:

In this live hands-on webcast the authors of 'Getting Started with Raspberry Pi, 2nd Edition' introduce you to the Pi Zero, the world's first $5 computer. At that price point the Zero is uniquely suited for hardware hacking projects; we'll show you how to get started. We'll also show you how to use the Satellite CCRMA linux distribution to hack your own electronic musical instrument.

Walking down +TEDActive memory lane while preparing for my talk at #TEDxSantoDomingo, I remembered Ibrahim Mursal's story about the Sudanese government shutting down +TEDxKhartoum تيد أكس خرطوم . He shared the story at #TEDxArendal  in his talk "Ideas Worth Protecting": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xGjTvkRv5w

Powerful. It shows you the power of ideas, and the danger they pose to dictators and dogmas.
