Why I LOVE Google Voice!

First of all, I feel comfortable sharing that number everywhere.

Because I can define who gets through to me directly, who gets filtered, and who moves to VM right away - like these spammy marketers.

And when they leave a spammy voicemail, I can block them with one click and never hear from them again.

Specify your social profiles to Google

Today Google announced that you can now markup your official website to add your social profile information to the Google Knowledge panel in some searches.

As social channels continue to become an increasingly prominent touch point, the new markup can provide searchers with another opportunity to engage with your brand.

Ever wanted to know what's REALLY going on behind the closed doors of the multi-millionaires?

Then join this hangout and sit down for a chat with 2 multi-millionaires who are doing things differently.

Bestselling Author, Acclaimed Speaker and Filmmaker - +Greg Reid is a natural entrepreneur known for his giving spirit and a knack for translating complicated situations into simple, digestible concepts.

Recently, Greg has been hand selected by The Napoleon Hill Foundation to help carry on the teaching found in the bible of personal achievement – Think and Grow Rich.

As a best selling author, entrepreneur and executive advisor, John Humphrey's company Freshcojohn, LLC, has generated millions of dollars in sales for North America’s premier Vending Opportunity for last 7 years.

Tired of the bill of goods sold to entrepreneurs to achieve instant results, Greg and John will talk about what does it really take to be successful in business and how they manage to fill out a high end, exclusive event without the use of social media, online advertisement or a website.

Their event - Secret Knock - is by invitation only, and as a gift for your participation in the Hangout, Greg and John will show you how you too can be invited.

Simply, RSVP here and make sure you head out to the Official Site for your link to join the hangout - first come first serve - so you can engage with my guests face to face, unscripted!

+John Gray and you - face to face in Unscripted Hangout

Join us this Monday night and grab your seat in the Hangout, as we dive into an Unscripted conversation with the best selling Author of Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus.

RSVP below.

#johngray   #relationship   #hangoutsonair   #menarefrommars   #womenarefromvenus   #gplusgotogal
Unscripted conversations with world leaders.

Women - do you find yourselves craving sugar, sweets and that you're easily getting upset even over little things?

Men - Do you find yourselves fatigue, feeling "blah" and with a sense of boredom or flatness?

+John Gray, author of Men are from Mars, women are from Venus says that you're probably stressed out. a lot.

The good news - One supplement,  PGX, a tri-fiber that absorbs carbohydrates and regulates blood sugar levels, helps the brain more readily manufacture needed chemicals.
But he gets even more specific, since men and women's brains are different, we react differently to stress and we need different natural cures to help with our chemical differences.

Alternatives to Medication
Scientific proof for natural remedies.

When major disease hit (like cancer, Parkinson's, ADHD, etc) it is more comfortable to relay on Western Medicine to take care of us.

John Gray was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and used natural remedies to heal himself, and proved that by using food, supplements and exercise we can achieve the right chemical balance, get off anti depressant and cure ADHD in boys.

But in our everyday lives, stress is the number 1 proxy killer (according to the Institute of HeartMath) not only of our health, but also of our relationships.

We need more than new communication skills and an understanding of our differences to have healthy relationships these days. We also need the nutritional support necessary for positive moods, sustained energy and most importantly, focus.

Without focus, communication breaks down in all relationships and frustration increases.

Without focus in romantic relationships, passion is lost and there is an increase in breakups and divorces. Without focus at work, people are increasingly dissatisfied and bored, often feeling unappreciated, distracted, exhausted or overwhelmed.

Join the Inner Circle and take a seat in the Film Strip.
Go on OFFICIAL SITE to join us, and you'll be emailed a link to join the hangout so you can ask John Gray any question you might have - unscripted, authentic and totally you.

Learn natural remedies that can save you and yours - your relationships, your children's health and get a good start for the new year.

Great advice from +Peggy K via +Alex Garcia
What will happen if I use this song in my video? Now YouTube lets you check before you upload

"Starting today, you can search the YouTube Audio Library to determine how using a particular track in your video will affect it on YouTube, specifically if it will stay live on YouTube or if any restrictions apply."

But be aware that copyright owners can change their policy at any time - today a video with your favorite pop hit could be showing ads, but tomorrow it could be muted or removed.

The YouTube Audio Library also offers music you can use for free without ads in any video - even videos you monetize yourself.

+Bryce Douglass I just checked and the song "All about That Bass" by Meghan Trainor says "Your video won't be viewable in 7 countries: Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Curacao, Germany, Japan, Portugal, Sint Maarten, South Sudan." The United States is not on that list.

Make your videos even more interactive with cards
Bye-Bye Annotations, hello Cards

Cards allow you to add a new layer of interactivity to your videos. They are applied on a per video basis and are rendered on desktop and mobile devices. You can provide a destination URL from a list of eligible sites and, depending on the card type, customize an image, title, and call-to-action text.

Right now, you can choose from six types of cards: Merchandise, Fundraising, Video, Playlist, Associated Website and Fan Funding. You’ll find a new “Cards” tab in your Video Editor to create and edit them at any time.

And here's the cool part - Cards are also available on live streams, so if you start a hangout from YouTube, you can use Cards too.

Check'em out.

Google Buys Odysee - auto backup to your computer

One of the interesting things about Odysee — “especially designed for people who take a lot of videos and would like the option of saving them at their full quality” — was that it shifted the storage option to your own computer rather than any public cloud. At the same time it had developed a caching feature that let users access those pictures even if the computer was offline or working on a slow Internet connection.

“Odysee keeps copies of recently accessed photos and videos online at high quality. Odysee keeps copies of photos and videos that are unlikely to be accessed (it predicts what is likely to be accessed) online at lower quality similar to that on Instagram or Facebook,” the company noted in its FAQ. “You always have a version of everything online.”

Add a relevant bio sprinkled with keywords

Your bio is a calling card, consider it your introduction to your next client. What do you want them to know about you? Why should they circle you?

A new update to Google+ takes you back to the conversations that matter.

Shares of posts used to stand on their own, in a way.
If you caught a share in your stream, you wouldn't have a clue what's going on on the original post - do people comment or not.

You could have been missing great conversations.

The new update allows you to see how many comments did the original post generate and perhaps even nudge you to pop over there to take a better look.

Checking out the original post
Where before you would have clicked on originally shared: to take you to the original post, that link is no longer active.
Instead, you'll notice:
X comments on original post if any comments were made, or View original post if no one has commented yet.

Both are active links that take you to the original post.

What does this mean?
Aside from the fact that Google continue to give us great engagement matrix (which to me indicate where they put their focus on), you can tell in a glance whether you're getting any engagement on your posts in comparison to the original one.

Notice! That I shared a post from +Jaana Nyström and her stats are not showing in my share. Only those of the original post and mine.

I wish the "original post" comments could be viewed on the same Card, as it were. Flip the post and view the original comments or open up the original comments above the new comment section.

"So what the f**k is Google+ for anyway?"

+Chris Messina  is an ex-Google employee who helped design the UX of Google+ before he left Google a year ago, and whose name came up again on the Plus stream when he shared his Thoughts on Google+ asking [quote] "So what the fuck is Google+ for anyway?" and got the community talking.

Join us this Thur. as Chris joins us on a hangout to answer this question

What if....
Google+ is not a social network at all - never intended to be a Facebook killer, nor a Twitter wanna-be and definitely not in a rush to keep up with everything else out there...?

What if....
Google+ is Google's way of analyzing our personal relationships across all their products (because relationships can't be faked) and use that knowledge to fuel services like Google Now, Nest, Home automation and Driveless cars...?

"So what the fuck is Google+ for anyway?"
+Chris Messina is an ex-Google employee who helped design the UX of Google+ before he left Google a year ago, and whose name came up again on the Plus stream when he shared his Thoughts on Google+ asking [quote] "So what the fuck is Google+ for anyway?" and got the community talking.

Chris is very disappointed with Google+ because he expects better from Google.
But maybe he's expecting the wrong things?

+Mike Elgan rebutted Chris' post and defended Google+ in a Google+ post that was shared 524 time and sparked conversations across the Plus (

Chris responded -

And Mike claimed that Chris lost the argument because he didn't answer the main questions:
"What site has
1) a better community;
2) better troll control;
3) better photo tools;
4) better integration with a leading wearables platform;
5) better conversations;
6) better monetization;
7) better search?"

Basically, comparing Google+ to Facebook again. (sigh)

Chris, who was an integral part in the development of Google+ for 3.5 years was told by +Jaana Nyström that he was using Google+ wrong. He should have been talking and listening to Top Contributors (which Jaana is one) who have their ears to the ground:
"Which is the direction it's taking? That depends. Also on us, the users.  Google listens."
(You should definitely read the comments on Jaana's post, where she and Chris get into an agreement -ömGooglePlus)

Perhaps the best insight is that of +Gideon Rosenblatt who read between Chris' lines and brought up the point of Big Data and information networks:
[Google+] "should have been 1000% focused on helping people build a rich information network around the things we care most about - our interest graph - and then to use that interest graph to connect us with new people who share those interests with us - our "shared interest graph."

And if it's about the interest graph, then who's better than +David Amerland to remind us that that takes time:  It requires building a bunch of things, integrating them and then waiting to see how people will use them and what the data will show you. This means that we have to wait to see some results (many of which will impact search) and the development of our online identity takes time.

And I agree with +Alan Dayley  - "this perfectly describes how I have used and benefited from Google+."

I think so, and Chris touches on that idea in his article  - "companies want your data "to establish a competitive advantage in delivering more personalized services to me and people like me."

But rather than having only Google have access to this data, Chris is talking about a data-positive perspective - Chris wants Google+ to be the place people go to "to understand the data that Google holds about them, or where they go to adjust their preferences, or to adjust how people see and find them online."

And so many other questions will be discussed in this hangout, and I want to read your comments so start sharing now - what is Google+ for you?
