Read Marisa's new blog where she is literally up in the clouds in Tanzania meeting all the local farmers. http://goo.gl/jZaOaL
The second part of my Tanzanian adventure was up in the clouds or ‘Juu mawinguni’ as they say in Swahili. Here we visited a variety of projects that Gorta funds, from Village Savings and Lending groups to Honey processing and everything in between!

Let's remind ourselves again why Ireland does the most GOOD in the world http://ow.ly/yRfKD

Introduction

Based in Dublin, Gorta is Ireland’s longest established not-for-profit development agency and was set up in 1965. Our focus has always remained on long term sustainable projects which we complete with partner organisations on the ground in our target countries.

Building on these 50 years of experience, at Gorta, we have evolved from our earlier agricultural-based model to a more comprehensive approach to modern development. This includes maximising the potential of these hard-pressed communities through skills exchange and the encouragement of innovation and entrepreneurship.
