Ok, I give up on Stellaris. Finally built an empire that was powerful enough to keep the AI players from wiping me out and was having fun learning the tech tree and exploring. Oh no, can't have that! So the game goes into a "crisis mode" where a super powerful AI appears out of nowhere with MASSIVE military strength and wipes out everyone in the game.

Picked #Stellaris Utopia during the Steam sale. It reminds me a lot of Masters of Orion 2 ... a great game for micro-managers, but it's really hard! There doesn't seem to be a sandbox mode where you can just play without the computer coming to stomp your neck after the first 100 years or whatever of in-game time.

What is the deal is with USB-C on smartphones? It seems more and more are going over to the format, but it appears to be a gimmick. USB-C offers little by way of new features... in fact it seems to be complicating things in terms of cables, and the only benefit is making the connector reversible?

I realize that NA is not the entire world, but we are still a top consumer market. Only one NA market phone, the Galaxy S8 offers video output via the USB-C connector. Only one NA market phone offers USB-PD support, the Google Pixel. Several phones with the USB-C connector don't even support USB 3.0 or 3.1, instead offering only the slow 2.0 connection.
