My +TEDx speech has been posted! THIS is my #FightSong ...

Thanks SO much to Rachel Platten for allowing me to use her song in this video!
Too many people allow themselves to be suffocated by the "rules" other people make. Why? Because... "That's just the way it is." or "I can't be selfish." or "I won't be rude by questioning those in authority." I recently had the AMAZING opportunity to do a TEDx speech here in Dallas. TEDx is an independently organized event, and this one was ... Read More

HyperSound Speakers HyperSound speakers from Turtle Beach are super-cool new speakers that are so thin, they almost look like LED light panels - and they ... Read More

Is Inbox by Gmail for you?
My 9 minute PACKED review takes a look at all the features of the new Gmail Inbox and shows you what's AWESOME and what's.... well, not quite there yet. :)

COMMENT >>> http://geekslife.com/inbox-by-gmail-review
Now that Google has opened up the beta of Inbox by Gmail, it's time to explore whether or not it's for you! Inbox by Gmail First of all, what is it? Google touts it as the “Inbox that works for you”, with the aim of allowing you to “get back to what matters”. It's a great, beautiful interface! They really ... Read More

Instant Movie Review
+David Foster and +Dave Curlee saw Insidious Chapter 3. Here's your Instant Review!
This morning, David Foster and I ran to the neighborhood theater and watched Insidious Chapter 3.  Having not seen the first two, David wondered if this chapter, a prequel, would be able to stand alone on it's own, or would he have needed to see Insidious and Insidious Chapter 2. Having seen the first 2, I thought that this one ... Read More

Question of the Week: What's YOUR scariest movie?!?
I saw Poltergeist, and was a little disappointed on the scary scale, I gotta say!

But um... today's #EntertainmentGeeks  talks about Insidious Chapter 3... sounds like they might be turning it up to 11!  Eeeks!!

Follow +Dave Curlee and tell him below... what's YOUR Scariest Movie Ever??? You can win a DVD on next week's show!

COMMENT HERE >>> http://geekslife.com/insidious-behavior-raunchy-spies-and-pixar-hotness/
There's not much happening movie-wise this week, so naturally, this week's Entertainment Geeks is gonna be a long one.  Actually, there's 3 movies dropping this weekend that we discuss, but we also dive into the world of crowd-sourced movies like Kung Fury and we're gonna see if Pixar really is superior to their Disney overlords. Featured in this Entertainment Geeks: ... Read More

Gord McLeod is a fiction author at Fiction Improbable, an editor and blogger at GeeksLife, and a general sci-fi/fantasy loving tech geek at heart.
Introduction
I'm an indie author at Fiction Improbable and a blogger for GeeksLife.
I won NaNoWriMo 2011 after live-writing my stories. I continue to write daily at http://www.fictionimprobable.com where all of my work is available for free.
I have terrible difficulty deciding between writing under the name Gord McLeod or Gordon S. McLeod. Currently, Gord McLeod is winning.
Once upon a time, I designed video games for Ganz Studios, the makers of WebKinz and the announced Tail Towns project. Many many moons ago, I wrote and drew a short-lived forgotten web comic.

Was the first Sword & Laser fan to ever submit a video and appear on the Geek & Sundry video show.

Cali and John set out to build a Disneyland (er, sorry Cali, DisneyWORLD) for geeks, and they have succeeded! In the scant few days I was there, I found references built into the place from Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and a TON of incredible modern technology. You're greeted by Platform 9 3/4, then immediately brought into a Star Trek TOS-era transporter room. Then you leave the 1960s behind when you encounter a massive 4K display near the Hall of Fame patron display. Wander a little ways down either hallway past the kitchen and you'll discover what became of Jabba the Hutt's favorite decoration; Han Solo hangs on the GeekHouse wall. You will never find a more amazing house of fun and geekery.

Excellent food and service, despite it being a relatively busy Wednesday night with only one server. I had the smoky cheddar bacon burger, and it's easily one of the best burgers in the area. Would certainly go back again.
