I got into a fight with the manager of a +Yogurtland who refused to believe that I paid with my phone and would not serve me. That aside I have enjoyed using +Google Wallet quite a bit so far.

Please come to Canada.... Pretty pweeeze

It would be nice if you could address what plans are in the works for rolling this out to the rest of the world. I'm in the UK and would love to use this!

Although I can accept that there are huge challenges in terms of deploying the infrastructure to retail outlets. I guess we can't magic pay-points into every single Starbucks round the world! :D

Main thing I would like to see is a compatible app for phones that do not have NFC chips. Perhaps with someway to produce a bar code to scan or something. I haven't yet been able to reap the benefits of your product, but I can only hope you have a plan for that.

The only thing that would have made this better is if Google would have paid for groceries for a needy family or bought stuff for a foodbank etc. I get it wouldn't be as good of an opportunity to advertise in the public as you are doing it, but the video would go viral when you post it. :) Just a thought. Other than that... I'm in at the moment you pay a coke machine with your phone...I never carry cash! (Well, that and the security part that I saw on the site!)

Why not make it possible to transfer money between Google Wallet users by just the phones, like +Android Beam?

Welcome... Come to Canada please :D

Welcome ! I'm looking forward to using Google Wallet in France ;-)

Love Google Wallet use it all the time and hate using my real card guess I'm spoiled lol

I don't know why this has to be through a phone carrier. I have an unlocked Google nexus S and I do not use a data plan. If I am at a store, then the Google Wallet software and the NFC chip can provide my credit card credentials to the store's system. Their network can make the transaction just like any other credit card transaction. My current credit card does not rely on a phone company so why should I not be able to use Google Wallet on my phone because of which phone provider I use...?

+Patrick Dugan We're sorry to hear that you had that experience. we're working closely with our partners to make sure their in-store hardware is working properly. We're glad you've enjoyed using Google Wallet so far!

+Ryan Moore +Steve Jaszczak +Amanda Blain Thanks for your interest. Google Wallet online (formally Google Checkout) is available for online purchases in more than 140 countries today. However we don't have any details to share at this time regarding the international rollout of the Google Wallet NFC mobile app. We'll add any future updates though to our Google+ Page.

Yes, some kind of information wrt plans to expand the service to other countries would be nice - esp judging by the spam that is all over the place about it being a problem.

Theoretically, it shouldn't be a problem to enable it here in Sweden - there is a lot of stores that has NFC capable terminals.

Anyway - some page with "plans" or "where we're headed" or something would be nice...

+Ian Kumlien - It's a bit of a chicken & egg situation here in the UK I think. Very few stores have NFC-capable terminals. A lack of available payment services is not going to convince many stores to install them.

It'll take a large chain to commit to NFC payments before it really has a chance of taking off. Starbucks being the PERFECT example.

I hope it happens soon...I hate carrying around all that lose change! I'm happy to carry around my phone though :D

Since i now, a little bit too late, found out that just about everyone asked the same question - lets go for another one:

What is the requirement of the purchase terminal? Just normal visa/master card? This would be a boon for the Jojo system in the south of Sweden - there is no cash allowed on the busses etc.

+Steve Jaszczak large chains here already has NFC - doubt it's used or activated currently though. Our transit system also uses NFC but they are lazy sods and seems to be totally focused on iPhone etc related software instead of focusing on the customers and what you could provide them with....

(the fact that they eventually started providing google with transit data is actually mindboggling - it could be the beginning of something good =). Currently i'm always using google maps to plan my transits and it's so much better than their own system it's not even funny)

so it sounds like what I am looking for is the Google Wallet NFC mobile app.... (that wont need a phone carrier in the mix)....? I have beta tested Google products before and would be prepared to try such a beast...

+Ian Kumlien - I'm looking forward to the day that I can just plug Google directly into my brain. Maps, navigation, finding information, communicating with friends, paying for stuff...all with my buddy Google whispering into my ear :-D

+Steve Jaszczak McDonalds, Braums, Whataburger. Though there is a lack in retail chains. If Walmart installed NFC terminals everybody else would do it. The biggest problem I see is that with most fast food POS systems you have to have the sales screen ready before you can use your phone on the exterior reader.

+Jason Smedley - Over here our Walmart equivalent would be Tesco. But yes, we need some of the big boys to jump on the NFC bandwagon.

+Steve Jaszczak you're giving google people wet dreams! =). I think thats overstating it but in general, the services that google supplies for free is so good that they are hard to match by anyone - and i like them.

As long as they aren't evil... =)

+Google Wallet the hardware was working just fine. The transaction went through instantly and without hassle. The problem was that the cashier and then her manger had never heard of google wallet and didn't understand the concept that I had paid them with a phone. The manager literally would not serve me until I handed over my physical credit card so he could confirm that I had paid.

Welcome +Google Wallet , we have paid with you in Czech Republic and we wonder if the seller became his money. Thanks.

it would be great if you guys could provide a link to the google wallet apk! for those of us using (sideloading) the verizon galaxy nexus who want to keep updated

I'd really love to see Google Wallet officially available on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I hope we GN users haven't been forgotten about and this is still being actively negotiated.

:( I usually just search for the apk every time I hear about an update... and then load it. But I'd rather get it straight from the google wallet team.

Is there any chance, ever, of getting Verizon to enable +Google Wallet on their Galaxy Nexus (just seconding Roger's comment above)? sigh.

+John Whittier-Ferguson Most likely not, unless Google starts offering a commission to Verizon for being able to use Google Wallet on there phones.

Why sit complacently beholden to Verizon? Got my VZW GNex on 12/22/11, installed Wallet that night. Use the suggestion +Jason Smedley made earlier to get it on yours and you will get regular updates as released.

+Roger Vandawalker you could also try the "Get Google Wallet" app in the Play Store. Doesn't look like that's been plugged yet.

Would love to use Google Wallet in Australia. Most stores now have NFC readers for Visa & Mastercard credit cards and I have the Galaxy Nexus so all hardware is accounted for. It is frustrating that we are just waiting on the software which exists elsewhere in the world. I love Google products but will jump on the first available NFC payment option here....... please make it Google Wallet.

Just used for all my cab fares in NYC -- great!

Welcome. Looking forward to using Google Wallet in the UK when it arrives.

Cheers +Google Wallet !
I got several online customers that I want to implement this service on and need to know when you plan to open wallet for companies based in Sweden (Nudie Jeans, POC Sports, Byredo and many more).
Thanks!

Great! Now we have a place to catch official product update news.

+1 on the interested people for Google Wallet NFC in Canada. I don't want to be locked in whatever the carriers are going to trying to shove down our throats, and I'm pretty sure it'll be ISIS.

Thanks Derek Ross for this tip.

Welcome to +Google+. It'd be nice if the dispute between the carriers was over so I could actually update the application properly and use it. I love it, and have wanted it since I heard about it. But I can't actively update it on my Galaxy Nexus. Also having other bank support is going to be great... I know that can't happen right away, but I'll be watching this page for updates now.

lolololololololololololololololol
*trollface

I've used Wallet a few times....it was awesome! I would use it much more if it supported Visa though. I have nothing from MasterCard. All of my cards are Visa.

+Brandon Shelton Glad to hear you've enjoyed using Google Wallet. We don’t have a timeframe to share, but we can say that we’re in active discussions with Visa issuing banks and others, and will update our Google+ Page as we make progress.

Wallet. Verizon. Don't kowtow to their deal with Isis. Bring the Nexus program back to its roots (no pun intended). Nexus is a Google phone, not a Verizon phone. Captain Kirk would never have stood for it (Picard probably).

Looking forward to the European launch of +Google Wallet! As someone who has always hated carrying cash around, this is the one thing that could make me switch from iOS to Android.

Is the delay in getting Google Wallet in other countries coming from government or cellular providers? I would like a straight answer. It doesn't make sense that the Paypal can be on my phone without an issue, but Google can't even get an app onto their own flagship phone? It's aggravating to see that someone/something is pushing innovators around.

We are in South Africa and would like to use Google Wallet to. When will this happen?  any info will be good for now.

HI; MY NAME IS ROGER TERRY. I SIGNED UP FOR YOUR GOOGLE WALLET ACCOUNT LAST FRIDAY AND I GET EMAILS SAYING THAT THE MONEY I SENT HAS NOT BEEN DEPOSITED WITH YOUR CHASE BANK IN OHIO. I WANT TO KNOW WHERE MY MONEY IS. I SENT $12,100.00 TO GOOGLE WALLET TO PURCHASE A 1970 FORD TORINO COBRA. YOUR AGENT KEPS TELLING ME THAT THE MONEY NEVER GOT THERE. I HAVE LOOKED ALL OVER YOUR SITE FOR A PHONE NUMBER BUT COULD NOT FIND ONE. THE TRANSACTION NUMBER IS 6654833. MY BANK GAVE US A TRACKING NUMBER BUT WE CANNOT USE IT BECAUSE THE ACCOUNT WHERE WE SENT THE MONEY TO IS NOT OURS. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MY MONEY; SINCERELY; ROGER TERRY;

How long does it take to expand the limitations on who can access this? The world is waiting... Well, some are, some are rooting their devices 'cause you're dragging you heels without telling us why...
