A few key takeaways for travel brands: 1) The key to success on mobile advertising is to offer utility right away 2) If your brand doesn't have a mobile messaging app strategy, it's time to start talking about one 3) Uber and other new companies have created an "on-demand" culture that consumers will be expecting from all types of brands What did you learn?
We're at #sxsw2015 ! Some updates from our feet on the ground:
1) 61.6M users on mobile messaging apps. Is your brand there? Should it be? 2) Starwood's fastest growing channel is China is their android app 3) Video sharing apps are having their moment at #SXSW2015 - especially live streaming. AppMeerka, periscopeco and telepartyapp are all here.
A few weeks ago we looked at the rise of video livestreaming apps like Meerkat & Periscope at #sxsw2015 . It looks like Skyscanner is the first travel brand to lead the way with its campaign with bloggers on periscope.
Hotel properties that actively engage with social media reviews grow occupancy at 2x the rate of properties that don’t, according to a new study. Properties that responded to more than 50% of social reviews grew occupancy rates by 6.4 percentage points, more than twice the rate of properties that largely ignored social media reviews.
We are partnering with hotels to offer travelers more information when choosing a hotel for their next stay. We want to help hotels reach and engage travelers, make it easier for travelers to search for hotels online, and visually and textually communicate why a particular hotel is the right fit for them. See new ways hoteliers can help travelers find and explore their property on Google. http://goo.gl/kanwWY
