In case you missed it, check out what our +Google Developers
friends have been cooking up ๐Ÿณ. #Google's AIY Voice Kit lets you build a voice controlled speaker, while the AIY Vision Kit lets you build a camera that learns to recognize people and objects. They are now available at +Target stores and http://Target.com (US) โ€” don't worry, the Google Developers team is working to make them globally available through retailers worldwide. Looks like AIY is the new DIY ๐Ÿ”จ๐ŸŽจ. #aiyprojects

Christof (a Site Reliability Engineering lead) was born and raised in Germany, and was sure academia was for him after he received a PhD on the topic of stochastic replication mechanisms in unstructured peer-to-peer networks ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿ’ป โ€” but then Google happened! Chrisof said "in hindsight, I'm extremely grateful that my academic career didn't pan out. Most stuff at Google is so much more advanced than what I would have been working on in academia."
