The day is finally here.

Today, 3.5 years after the original announcement, and after a six month extension, we turned down JavaScript Maps API v2 by migrating remaining maps to v3.

Though we expect the migration to provide a seamless upgrade for most simple maps, we know that it won’t be successful in all cases. So if you’ve experienced broken maps, please consult our upgrade guide for advice on migrating to v3.

If you have questions about this change, our Developer Relations team and the Google Maps developer community are a great resource. Please refer to our developer site for ways that you can seek assistance.
