Google today released Street View imagery of Peninsular Malaysia’s coastal regions for Malaysians and people around the world to enjoy in time for the Merdeka holidays. The new imagery launch -- a first for Street View -- follows the completion of the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) and Google Malaysia’s ‘Paddle for Nature’ project -- a kayak expedition to collect visual imagery of Peninsular Malaysia’s coastline and also a fundraising campaign for the 75-year-old nonprofit organisation.
Everyone can now virtually discover parts of Peninsular Malaysia’s 2,200km coastline and enjoy visuals of inaccessible beaches by land, such as beaches off the coast of Pahang and Terengganu. It’s not all about pretty pictures either, as the collected imagery includes seaside villages, swampland pollution and coastal embankment projects.
