Avoiding the Ultron

How to design automation to avoid losing touch with the work that is being done.

"There are certain tasks that people are good at that machines do not do well. Likewise, there are other tasks that machines are good at that people do not do well. The compensatory principle says people and machines should each do what they are good at and not attempt what they do not do well. That is, each group should compensate for the other's deficiencies."

With a quote from Kernighan: "Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it."

Should the traditional conference format be changed?

Certainly, sessions are sometimes boring.

Jagadish suggests a session-based organization.

The new G+ version

I'm trying now the new version. Two most important changes in my opinion:
1) The conspicuous lack of "circles" in the UI.
2) Sharing options to other networks (Twitter, Facebook and easily copying a link to the post).
Not sure yet what I think of it.
