We're not sure it's as iconic as Michael Jordan's Jumpman logo, but what do you think about Lefty's new 'Jumping Phil' logo?
In his first start of 2017, Phil Mickelson debuted a new look ... but you had to look really close to notice it.

It's pretty good. I approve.

Justin Thomas has officially arrived. One week after winning the SBS Tournament of Champions, the 23-year old went wire-to-wire the very next week to take home the Sony Open in Hawaii title, and set a PGA Tour 72-hole scoring record while doing so.

Two big names have switched equipment manufacturers for 2017, with Rory McIlroy moving to +Callaway Golf clubs and +Titleist balls, while +Bubba Watson will be playing a pink Volvik golf ball. Do you pay attention to what brands golfers play on Tour?
Rory McIlroy's days as a free agent have come to an end. After his corporate partner Nike Golf exited the golf hardware business last August the former World No. 1 golfer decided on what new equipm...

No.I play Wilson Staff, and if I could buy myself a new set of irons W/S would be my first choice.
And right now I doubt I could tell you which pro(s)carry Wilson Staff,or play the W/S Duo
golf ball.
But regardless, the Pros are paid handsomely to play/endorse what clubs they pic.

+Bubba Watson now has a new pink golf ball to go with his pink +Ping Golf driver, as it has been announced that he will be switching to Volvik golf balls on Tour. He'll specifically be playing the Volvik S4, which can be found here (in white):
Bubba Waston already plays a pink driver. Now he’s likely adding a pink ball to the mix. According to multiple sources, including Bubba Watson himself (at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii), the lefty bomber has signed an agreement to play Volvik golf balls on the PGA Tour in 2017.

Pretty good article from Golf Digest that reference the best golf quotes of 2016. Some are funny (Andrew Johnston), some are serious (Mike Davis) and some are strange (Henrik Stenson)...
From Beef Johnston to the blunder at Oakmont, here are the best soundbites from the year in golf.

Some of these are a cool kind of nostalgic, but most of these were pretty bad. Here are 16 golf fads that are pretty much gone (and most we hope to never see again...), via
From golf sandals to exploding golf balls, we're glad to see the back of these fads. Yelling "Ba-Babooey!" at Tour Events Not that "You da man!" or "Mashed potatoes!" is much better. But at least we’re past the days when a bellowed version of that Howard Stern-ism echoed from the gallery at every shot. The Mock Neck

Never wore golfing sandals. My feet are too ugly.
Only Steve Spurrier wears a visor, and I don't like Steve Spurrier.
I wore the Sansabelt slacks back in the 70'.
Have fond memories of them.
I had two pair of tassel golf shoes( also in the 70's)They were cool.
Wore the occasional mock turtle, but never the full as I have no neck. But I do have one of those flabby things hanging from my chin.
Thanks for bringing back some fond memories.

Justin Thomas just fired off a 59 at the Sony Open, becoming the youngest ever to do so, at age 23. And this is immediately after winning his last tournament. It's safe to say that this kid is on fire.
Justin Thomas didn’t lose his game on the short flight from Maui to Oahu. In fact, he only got better.

Great comments. Agreed, nobody is above the game. But the TV networks pay attention to the ratings boost when Tiger is present and they all latch onto that. Especially during a time of the year when the Tour is a bit slow regarding news. I certainly see both sides and absolutely agree that no matter what an individual's opinion is of Tiger, he does deserve respect for his success and impact on the game.
