#workout misconception:

You should use machines because they single out muscles.
While machines use one path of movement, free weights help build smaller and secondary muscles for stabilization. Incorporate both into your workout routine for maximum results!

#health and #fitness tip for vacationing:
Watch out for jet-lag. Adjusting to a new time zone might make you hungry at odd hours. Resist the urge to snack at 4 a.m. and wait for normal meal times instead (or choose a healthy snack, like a handful of nuts, to tide you over).

I have been pleasantly surprised by this gym given the "history" of Gold's Gym. The staff was very inviting and helpful in showing me the equipment. The best part is the gym had a diverse membership crowd. I always thought that Gold's was a "bodybuilding" gym, I did see some but there were plenty of regular folks, which made me feel comfortable! Overall, I have had a great experience with Gold's at the Epicentre! From the nice "hello" when I come in to the great personal trainers that helped me feel better and start to see results!

I love this gym!! One of 2 Gold's Gym Elites in the world and it is amazing, I look forward to every workout at the Gold's Gym in EpiCentre! You can feel the energy! The staff is always smiling and glad to help. The equipment is great. I use the free weights for the majority of my workouts. The view from the free weight area is amazing. You can see the beautiful city of Charlotte. The sunrise and sunset is breathtaking. I feel elite in this gym! It is a must-see!!

Invited my friend to get a 7day trial in March and Susan forced him into an invalid contract just to try out the gym. Said his membership would begin on May 1 and he'd get the rest of March and all of April free to decide if gold's gym worked out for him. It didn't. Came in April to cancel the trial and signed papers that have mysteriously disappeared. Now he's being told he owes $ and his "membership" was not correctly cancelled. Every person is telling us there's nothing they can do to fix the problem THEY created. STAY AWAY!!!

This gym is over priced, poor customer service, lack of equipment and did I mention poor customer service? I was told that I would receive a month free of membership for every person I referred. I referred two folks and have inquired about my free membership several times to no avail. Additionally, I have sent 5 emails to them, emails they were quick to respond to when I was a pending member, again, to no avail. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a week now and the past few days their phone has not even worked "we are unable to take your call." I then called the corporation that handles their payments "ABC Financial" for whom I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau. Avoid at all costs, mentally and financially.

Love this gym...from the staff to the equipment, I have been very impressed! Shannon, who works the front desk in the mornings, greets me with a cheerful smile and kindness everyday (at 5am!). Every time I've initiated a conversation with a trainer for tips/help with my current diet and workout plan, they have taken the time to talk with me and answer all my questions (and no, I do not use or pay for a trainer). Whether I'm having a cardio day or a strength training day, everything I need is at this Gold's. Overall, I am a happy customer and definitely recommend to others.

The gym is very nice and well maintained. Employees are courteous and friendly. Few negatives: 1. The manager Susan is not a person you want to deal with! She is only set on new memberships, will promise anything and basically you can catch her lying. She does not do customer service at all. Once you sign up- she will smile through her teeth and leave you hanging. Steer away from this person. 2. Showers are not very well cleaned. The cleaning crew seems to be very lazy. The gym is big, but the free weight area is crowded. They really need to expand that area and cut down on the machines. Because of the two free week promotions, there are strangers there all the time. Kinda sucks.

Ok, so I'll start by saying that this gym is on the higher side price wise. That's the only bad thing about this gym. Very friendly staff, state of the art equipment, 360 views of the city, smoothie bar, locker room service. ....best gym I've been to period. When it comes to price the sales reps can work with you and in regards to my health there is no dollar figure you can stamp on it.
