Great advice about how to raise ambitious daughters.from Dr. Janet Rose http://www.taketheleadwomen.com/blog/how-to-raise-ambitious-daughters-who-are-invested-in-their-own-success/
Our efforts to nurture women into leadership, stand up for equality, and have a voice as women ourselves are critical to the gender-balanced needs of our society. We know that women who embrace power with confidence are key to bringing leadership parity to every field. Some of our strategies for promoting women’s leadership are proving successful, however, so much of who we are and what we believe about what it means to be female (and our persona...

I wrote this two years ago and it remains one of my favorite life lessons.
Stefi materialized like a sea sprite during our first breakfast at the Dubrovnik estate overlooking placid turquoise Adriatic waters. In an uncharacteristically impulsive act, I had purchased four nights for four people in this Croatian paradise at a charity auction. And here we were, absorbing the wonders of this gorgeous place, complete with Nada the amazing chef, a driver—and Stefi. Until that moment, the four of us–my husband Alex and me and ...

My take on why this is a strategic inflection point for women's leadership parity. Please read and share widely!

Quotas good or bad? Useful or not? Your thoughts?
If there are 15 men at the table who would you replace? “Nobody,” says the overwhelming majority of the European countries. Let’s not fool ourselves; there is an improvement, there is an intention, but a reality check reveals concerns. “I am disappointed to be here – I am disappointed that my daughter is still asking about gender inequality,” said Millstam Selina at the Women’s Economic Empowerment Forum just a few months back, in Brussels. Co-Founder and President, Take The Lead; Author of No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power
Introduction
Gloria Feldt is co-founder and president of Take The Lead, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to prepare, develop, inspire, and propel women to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025.  A renowned activist and author, whose passion for social justice has propelled her life’s work, her latest book, No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power, reveals why women are stuck at 18% of top leadership roles. Through inspirational stories and practical tools, in keynotes, workshops, writings, and courses, Gloria shows how women can redefine power, lead themselves with intention, and reach parity from the boardroom to the bedroom for good—their own and society’s.

Gloria Feldt’s previous books include the New York Times bestseller Send Yourself Roses, co-authored with actress Kathleen Turner, Behind Every Choice Is a Story, and The War on Choice. People Magazine calls Feldt “the voice of experience.” A teen mother from rural Texas, Feldt served as president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation’s largest reproductive health and advocacy organization, from 1996-2005. She is a frequent media commentator on women’s leadership and related issues. Feldt teaches “Women, Power, and Leadership” at Arizona State University and serves on the board of the Women’s Media Center.
