Sports Knee Sprain treatment gets quick results

Mr. SP is an adult athlete, over 50 years of age, who participates in cross fit and martial arts on a weekly basis. He experienced a quick onset of knee swelling and pain after walking his dog. However, when questioned, he described sustained kneeling two days prior during his martial arts training. His pain areas were the inside and outside of the knee and thigh. He also reported chronic outer hip, intermittent tightness and ache.
The global physiotherapy assessment identified a sprain of the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and MCL (medial collateral ligament), a strain of the muscles attaching below the knee on the inside and weak hip gluteus muscles. Mr. P received a total of four treatment sessions which included laser, regenerative photon therapy and exercises. His lower extremity functional index improved by 29% to 94% of normal and he had returned to all of his activities.

GRADE 2 CALF STRAIN TISSUE HEALING

Two recent clients presented with a grade 2 calf strain. They each had pain on walking and stairs and walked with a limp. Specific laser therapy to the injured tissue was combined the the Regenerative Photon Therapy: red and infrared light system to promote healing and relieve pain. Manual therapy and exercises were added to optimize lower leg healing and function.

One was able to do stairs pain free after five treatment sessions and still has one more treatment to resolve some local muscle healing. The other had more ambitious goals and was back to 10,000 steps in a day, including a vigorous exercise walk after 10 treatments.

HIP BURSITIS AND GROIN PAIN RELIEF

Cindy Coneen uses a global back and leg assessment to determine the causes of your hip pain. The unique laser and Regenerative Photon Therapy (RPT) system influences your cell chemistry to improve tissue mobility, promote tissue healing, decrease inflammation and relieve pain. The hip muscles respond well to Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) to release tight muscles. Cindy also uses a special acupuncture technique to help you retrain your glute muscles. Exercises like bridging are key to staying pain free. Consult Global Physiotherapy Sherwood Park to "Keep Active for Life".

INTRAMUSCULAR STIMULATION therapy or IMS targets tight spinal muscles and leg or arm muscles to improve the nerve supply to your painful area. Gunn IMS uses a clean technique and safe needle locations to stimulate the tight muscles.

LM was experiencing neck and arm pain with muscle weakness. After her first IMS treatment with Cindy, she reported a significant reduction in pain. The next treatments helped her "get more movement back in my neck than I have had in years". She was able to continue her activities pain free.
