Last night my daughter and I stayed at the Glidden House and were so pleased; the hotel is so quiet and got a great night sleep! Our room was clean, no funky smells! The staff from the person who checked us in, the woman who "maned" the breakfast bar. There was quite a choice, fresh fruit, apples, oranges and blueberries; the blueberry muffins were great, a choice of orange juice, and apple, choices of teas, coffee. The house keeping staff were so nice too. The house is close enough to walk from the house to the Batanical Gardens, and other places; check out time is noon but you can leave your parked car there until 4!

When I stay overnight in Cleveland, this is my first choice. The rooms are clean and quiet (They've recently upgraded their previously noisy heating/AC system.). The complementary continental breakfast is extensive. The concierge (James) is awesome! In fact, all the employees are friendly and professional. If you get a suite, try to get on the third floor; in the second floor suites you can hear the continental breakfast being prepared early in the morning. But the best thing about this place is its location. Several museums, coffeeshops, bars (the Barking Spider rocks!), and the Cleveland Cinematheque are all within walking distance.

Don't trust your reservation. We called the Glidden House on June 1, 2013 at 4am Denver time to make a reservation by telephone for our daughter's May 2014 graduation. Hotel took the credit card information and confirmed the reservation. Three hours later, went back online to verify it, and there was no record of the reservation and the hotel was now fully booked for graduation weekend. Very disappointing.

Do not waste your time with this place. Staff seems inexperience and not willing to go the extra mile. We had several of us staying in this hotel, reserving a total of 3 rooms. Upon arrival at 3pm we asked if we could check in, we were told by James the concierge check in wasn’t until 4pm and that none of the rooms were clean yet; which was odd since on our way in we say several maids hanging around outside smoking. We finally checked in, & the rooms were adequate at best. Upon check out, we noticed that we had been charged a $10 fee for a cot that we had utilized. However, while we had only needed one cot in one room; we were charged the additional $10 for all the rooms for a total of $30. After going back and forth with the lady a the front desk, she agreed to make the correction. On our way out, we once again saw the maids standing around outside smoking. Finally Leary, the special events coordinator; seems super nice, but good luck getting him to follow up on anything. If you’re looking to plan a wedding, try Gervasi Winery in Akron, much more beautiful setting and a much more pleasant and professional staff to work with!!

My parents stay here once every few months. Comfortable rooms, nice breakfast and great service. For my family in Cleveland Heights, location is a key. Next to all the museums.

We had our wedding and reception at the Glidden House and it was amazing. All of our guest were blown away at the quality of service the Glidden House provided. We also have Leary the Director of events there to thank for all his hard work and contributions to making our special day that much easier on us!

Anyone who gives this place a bad review is off-base. I simply cannot imagine it! Clean, quaint, and classic... It is the most serene and relaxing scene you can imagine. If you are looking for facilities to swim, hottub and hang out in some loud lobby... this is not the place for you.. This place is about relaxation, and a good night's sleep..
