today's #MapThis blog - Esri’s larger Disaster Response Program Supports Efforts in Louisiana - Esri’s ArcGis Online provided, and is still providing a way to collect, monitor, and report all field activities to be sure all departments are on the same page using real time imagery, data and easy to use apps. http://bit.ly/gjaug24
An interesting update came out of Redlands this week regarding the efforts to support the terrible flooding that has tragically hit the state of Louisiana this summer. Our contacts inform us that Esri (www.esri.com) technology has been in full force in Louisiana, including the search and rescues and now the cleanup and disaster recovery efforts. …

Yearly Schedule. New Map Plus courses are designed around a 10-week semester, rather than the traditional 16-week semester. Given the compressed time schedule, the course work (both in class time and assignments) is much more intensive in order to provide the same level of instruction.

Something new today from Esri (and NOAA) is the ability for users of ArcGIS Online to visualize the national water model map service and flood forecasts for the continental US. This service enables forecasting and datviz of more than 2.7 million stream line segments that are updated hourly  http://www.geo-jobe.com/maps/visualizing-the-national-water-model-in-arcgis/
