Whether it’s down to a build-up of stress at work, a tough few weeks looking after the kids or the sense of being trapped in the monotony of your everyday life, everyone needs a chance to unwind. A two or three night break may not sound like much, but it’s enough time to let you relax, unwind and recharge the batteries, meaning that you’ll bounce back into normal life refreshed and raring to go.

The Rockbridge State Nature Preserve in the small town of Rockbridge features a natural bridge that stretches more than 100 ft. long – and it’s truly incredible. Millions of years ago, this incredible bridge of Black Hand Sandstone formed from great pressure and steady erosional processes.

Glenlaurel was mentioned in the Chicago Tribune!
The skyscrapers of cosmopolitan Columbus, Ohio, fade from the rearview mirror as we drive southeast. In half an hour, the landscape changes from urban to country.

I've been going to Glenlaurel since 2005 at least once every year. A great place for an anniversary! Truly a retreat where I can really forget about the daily grind I'm leaving behind. The cottages with hot tubs never disappoint, and the view of the stars at night is one of the best in Ohio. They go out of their way to attend to every detail, including accommodating dietary restrictions in the dining room. The 7-course, formal Saturday evening dinner with bagpipes is a memorable treat. Their private gorge is a wonderful area for hiking, birding and being immersed into nature without the crowds.

Had the most amazing Anniversary celebration at Glenlaurel! Our handcrafted plate is truly something we will hold onto through the years. We intend to collect one each year now & joined their anniversary club. Both nights we stayed dinner was amazing; the seafood & lamb were prepared to perfection! My husband and I like most people are so busy during the week it was so wonderful to reconnect in such romantic atmosphere. I also highly recommend golfing on the Scottish Links, great experience!

Wonderful. The grounds, the cottages, the staff, the food, the private hikes - everything was just fantastic. What a rejuvenating experience! We will undoubtedly return.

The location was quiet and beautiful. The breakfast and dinner are served at very strict times but its worth it because the food is amazing. When we arrived they even had a small gift waiting in our room for us to celebrate our anniversary. I will definitely be coming back.

My first appetizer was cold, the second one was burnt, the lamb tasted awful.. I was overall disappointed in my visit. Too many things changed for the worst and I don't believe glenlaurel is worth the price or visit anymore. Myself and others will no longer be visiting.
