In the world of PR, we are often noted as spin doctors, publicists, or even liars. If done well (and right), though, PR is much more than spinning a story so a journalist will cover it. It's content. It's social media. It's brand ambassador programs. It's reputation. It's crisis communications. It's influencer engagement. It's even measured and proven to be an investment. It's not just media relations.
We can't expect business leaders to look at what we do as more if we, ourselves, equate PR to just media relations. It's time to stand up for the profession
