I hate email, so there's something very compelling about the idea of not replying to email most of the time. MG makes a good case for just letting email flow past you like the items in your newsreader or tweets.

I take email pretty seriously. I don't respond to many (maybe the majority) of messages, but I respond to a good amount of it, and I read every item, and clear out my inbox to 0 a couple times a week. Many days it feels like all I do is answer email. (When you run an open source project or two like I do, posting to the mailing list is a major responsibility).

But, I do wonder: what would happen if I spent the time I spend writing email now writing blog posts instead?
