I am writing this review for David Wordak on helping me finding a Subaru. He is a very nice person with seasoned experience, so he is good at what he is doing, he explained well of my target cars, and answered all my questions. He is rather patient, knowledgeable and mellow as well. In addition, he is more like a friend from your neighborhood, and I have no hesitation to recommend him if any one is looking for a car in this dealership.

I had experiences buying cars from other large dealerships, but by far had the best CS experience from Gillman south when I bought my 15 sti. Most dealerships are selfish and never listens to the customer, but these guys put customers first. I did run into some caveats with financing but Eliel (spelling?) gave me the best deal there is! In addition to that Jamie is a really good guy, he is not just a regular salesman to me, I consider him a friend now and I believe this is what customer service is all about!

Dropped off my brand new 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5I Premium at Gillman Collision Center on October 6th to have the passenger side door repaired. 12 weeks later I receive my car back with not only a new passenger front door, but 3 horrible layers of paint on the entire passenger side of the car, 4 total layers of paint on the passenger side of the car. The edges were no longer edges but rounded blobs of paint, there were clear coat runs on the entire side of the car like they just poured a bucket of clear coat over the car and washed their hands. Wow. After 12 weeks to repair minor damage to 1 door, they actually just replaced the door, I was astonished. On top of that, we spoke with the body shop manager and he laughed in our faces when we brought these issues up and said "this is as good as we can do." I had to battle with the insurance company, that's another story. All I know is, I had to pay $2,500 to get my car fixed by an actual body shop! Gillman story #2: I was in the process of taking Gillman to Justice of the Peace Courts of Harris County when the Gillman Subaru Southwest Manager called me. He asked what he could do to make this right. I said, honestly I don't think you can do anything. He said how about we get you out of your car and into a new car. Too good to be true, right? Right! So at first he said we could trade in our brand new repaired Forester for the same car, but we would have to pay $1,300. I said you are joking, right? I am just about to take Gillman to small claims for more than double that. He then offered an even trade for a brand new car. I agreed, who wouldn't! Gillman Collision slapped 3 layers of bad paint job over my entire passenger side when only 1 door was damaged! So we took the deal. End of story, right? Wrong. We do the trade one evening and we are happy to have done it. Until I see the car in the sunlight! Issues with the "new car"...At this point we are doubtful that this car is new despite what the odometer reads. 1. Rust spots ("Rail Dust") over the entire car. 2. Nickel sized door ding on driver door. 3. Deep scratch on passenger rear door. 4. Scratches (at least 10 total) behind all door handles. 5. Scratches on hood. 6. Scratches all over basically. So I told the Manager this. He said bring it back for a "fine detail". Mind you that since taking the car to Gillman Collision, this will be the 12th time I have had to drive to Gillman since October. We brought it back.... Again, I work so I had to pick the car up in the evening. I finally got a chance to see it in the sunlight. None of the issues, besides the door ding (taken care of by a third party, of course) had been properly taken care of. Plus! More scratches and we aren't talking small microscopic ones, we are talking a 3mm wide scratch spanning the entire length of the roof rail! End of story...12 visits to Gillman in 4.5 months..."New" car with scratches all over! Looks like I am going to have to either pay to have my new car with 200 miles on it professionally detailed by a real shop or do it myself...what a joke. I will let you be the judge on whether or not you should go to Gillman for your next car. Keep in mind there is a West Houston Subaru on I-10. I love Google, but not being able to put zero stars is truly frustrating. FYI, The repaired 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5I Premium 6 speed manual in Silver is now on their lot for sale and the carfax shows no accident or previous damage. The repair shop that we took the car to did a phenomenal job to repair the horrific job Gillman did and the car looks like new (better than the car we have now!). I guarantee that they will try to sell this car, knowing that the entire passenger side has been repaired, without telling the customer.

Worthless BAIT and SWITCH dealership... Their online pricing means nothing. Test drove a used vehicle handed them the online price print-out and said I wanted that price. They run the numbers and the final price was 4k more then their online price and thats with a 4k deposit!!! They try to give you a monthly payment that is retarded for anyone who can research a payment calculator before hand.... 23k (Online Price) - 4k (My Deposit) does not equal a month payment of $522... thats before they could tell me my interest rate! They would have to run my credit check first.... Everyone knows that... Turns out they switched the asking price to 26k + TTL = 28k cash option (I didnt look at how they figured my down payment in there but they somehow did) and then they tell me that another customer called in and put a Down Payment and they will call me back tomorrow! Sorry other people who gave them a good rating but you go screwed and you dont know it yet... This place is Ridiculous

Awesome Subaru dealership! They're further away from me than West Houston Subaru, but the guys at Gilman took care of my airbag recall where as West Houston would hang up on me when I tried to set up an appointment. I wanted to look at some BRZ's while I was waiting and the salesmen were very friendly even though I clearly said I no intentions of buying a new vehicle at this time. No pressure what so ever and they still showed me all the features of the vehicle and were very informative. I will buy a vehicle from here one day. Thank you guys, I had a pleasant experience at your dealership!

I wish i can give 0 stars if i can Yes, when you are trying to buy a car. they are most friendly place on Earth (of course) AFTER Purchase... it decline. dramatically..... There was a CD in my car. which origin can't be address. it was burn cd with one 3 min track. they said when they got it deliver from other dealership, one who was driving was listening to the cd.... (2 hours drive with one 3 mins track.... ) very odd and they still can't get real explanation for it. NOBODY IS WILLING TO LOOK DEEPLY INTO IT..... they gave me a theory and wanted me to accept it. When I purchase the car I got Dent coverage (which "Covers ALL sides of car" and PAINT) and xzilon (adhesive for paint and water resistance) Since my purchase was on later during the day they couldn't have spray the xzilon. So they reschedule me for wk later. However, During the wk of driving I gotten rockchip(dent) on hood of my car, causing dent and some paints coming off. so xzilon couldn't be applied on due to paint chip. so I wanted them to fix the dent with insurance company, yet i found out the company they signed me up with said "IT ONLY COVERS THE SIDE OF THE CAR" WHAT IS THE POINT OF DENT COVERAGE OF THE CAR WHICH ONLY COVERS THE SIDE. but nice of them to fix it. dealership said they will fix it. MOST INTRIGUING THING IS everybody at gillman, salesman and business manager said "they will cover everything paint and dent, and Xzilon can be applied on top of the paint. So i waited a 2 wks to get it fix. and xzilon sprayed on. However, When I went back to pick up the car. Paint wasn't fixed. So DENT COVERAGE... is now known as PAINTLESS DENT COVERAGE. and I had to ask them to fix that too and finally did after a wk time. So, i asked them for paperwork, because it might be that my fault. yet, They didn't give me all the paper work I signed. They told me. they don't have it and it is hard process to get me the Paperworks that I signed. I Don't know I'm over reacting.... but it was my first car purchase after my Graduation and I didn't even get discount for it being limited addition... I'm not complaining about discounts. because I got good rate. Yet, Way that they sold me the insurance under fault knowledge of salesman and try to adjust after sales. is horrid and un-acceptable and not knowing or no explanation why that cd or anything is in that car. oh. they responded very nicely when I wanted to change my car. of course, car sales place wouldn't mind making more profit from more sales and making loose me money.

Wonchol Chung, I am very sorry to see that this situation occurred. We understand that repairing a dent is not fun for anyone involved, and I am sorry to see that our communication with you was not up to par. I would like to talk with you about this experience with our dealership, and get a few additional details so we can hopefully we can help make it better. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience at gillmanreviews@gmail.com. - Gillman Customer Service

I recently bought a car from here and quite honestly I wish I hadn't. The car is fine but the service is just not worth the trouble. When I bought the car I noticed a few scratches which I was told would get fixed. When I asked to get $500 off the price of the car since I was signing that same day, I was turned down on the basis that the paint to cover the scratches was expensive, and if I wanted that fixed I couldn't get the discount. I live in Dallas and was told to come back to Houston to get that fixed so I drove all the way back here and all that was fixed was 2 tiny scratches because apparently those were the only ones I mentioned the day I bought the car. Now I might not be great at math but I doubt that 2 little scratches are worth $500. Also the cover of the visor mirror was broken and when I asked if they could fix that the response was that her boss was on vacation and it would take too long to hear back from him plus she didn't want to bother him... I like the car but the crappy service is making me consider returning it. Hopefully the review I'll be writing about this place helps future customers know what to expect from here.
