Since +Wang Wei is not accepting my comments to his article on Toshiba's "new" unbreakable encryption : http://thehackernews.com/2015/06/unbreakable-encryption.html here are my comments, here :

First, this is old news. ID Quantique has been doing this since 2007... :)? It's their CERBERIS product line, and in prod at customers (State of Geneva to secure e-voting inter-datacenter links, banks,  and to secure inter-stadium links during the 2010 soccer championship in South Africa, amongst other things).?..

The way QKD works is by, on that separate fiber, you send one photon at a time. Heisenbeg's uncertainty principle, and the no cloning theorem make it so that you can't clone observed photons... and observation of photos as they go by disturbs them. So communication on that quantum link is either not observed, or interrupted. But it cannot take place while being eavesdropped. It's quantum physics at work, and it makes it provably uneavesdroppable.

Have a look at QKD on Wikipedia for more details : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... there are known algorithms (since 1984) for doing it. Those are stable, proven. There are even more recent versions and optimisations. It's not like it's just popped up on the radar. As I said earlier... old news. :)

+Gilles Gravier"Probability factors" work well enough with 'determinisms of outcomes' of REAL things...not 'supposed realities!'
Mathematical extrapolations have no 'situational awareness' nor the ability to 'think".
Numbers do not determine reality...we do that.

France is pushing for more and more open source in the government
So France is taking a big step forward. Jacques Marzin, Director of the DISIC (Direction Interministérielle des Systèmes d'Information et de Communication), in an article published May 19th 2015, in CIO Online , explains how the SILL (Socle Interministeriel...

Liquid helium held by hand in a small glass veil... Just for info, Liquid helium is at 4.2 °K. That's close to -269 °C... you don't hold it by hand...

Have you adopted open source yet?
One of the first slides of the 2015 Future Of Open Source Survey presentation (slide 8) gives an interesting metric. 78% of companies run on open source (and 3% think they don't use it in any way). Think about it. 78% So where are you? Where is your company...

Why is TiSA targetting open source?
... or rather, who is behind TISA, and wants open source removed from the market? Interesting reading from the TiSA Annex on Electronic Commerce . (Thanks, WikiLeaks !) The article 6, on page "6" clearly states the following: Article 6: [JP propose; CO oppo...

Wow! New +Synology  DSM 5.2 supports direct casting of pictures to Chromecast with DS Photo. Very cool. Though I must say... Docker support is slick too! And auto encryption of files sent to cloud can come in handy. I love it all!
Network Attached Storage (NAS) for home and business, Synology is dedicated to provide DiskStation NAS that offers RAID storage, storage for virtualization, backup, NVR, and mobile app support.
