This is a great hotel. The room was spacious and clean. And the bathroom was large by NYC standards. The fitness room is on the small side, but they've got 3 of them. Room had a very nice TV, the remote worked, and it did not automatically turn on to a dumb hotel channel. I'll give the front desk an 11 for service. I left my tablet computer there a week ago, and guess what? When I stopped by today they were holding it for me.

If you are into the more 'kitchy' hotel experience then this place is right up your alley. The rooms are fairly well kept and the staff is very nice. Where this property falls down is in the area of work space or functionality for business trips. Two annoyances for me after multiple stays was that the workspace is not ergonomic [desk is too shallow and low in an effort to conserve space] and I could never get an iron from the cleaning staff that worked right [on one occasion I received one with melted plastic on the heating plate]. One last thing is the ambient noise. I know you have to deal with that at all hotels but it seems like the noise from the hallway was always amplified - earplugs were a must. If I were staying there for vacation, it would have been much better.

This off the beaten path hotel is a great value in the financial district. Rooms with high ceilings, clean, comfortable beds...Outstanding service from an always friendly front desk staff who never tire of replacing lost room keys. Bjorn, Tomo, Jeanette and the gang made my extended stay feel like home. Ask for an room on the highest floor possibly facing Gold St because this building is surrounded by tightly packed high rises so not much direct sunlight filters down to the street. The address is on Gold St but the entrance is on Platt St. The "fitness rooms" that are located on several floors are not really anything more than walk in closets with a treadmill and a few dumb bells so your gonna have to get outside and take a run along the nearby East River if you want to get any exercise

Great and comfortable little hotel downtown. The bar is great and the service from the people at the front desk was really good.

Stylish 'boutique' hotel in the Financial District. Traffic is dead on the weekend which is good. Positives ----------------- - Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful - Good Location - Close to Brklyn Bridge and 911 memorial. - Close to subway - Grocery Store - spacious room for NYC standards - Onsite free bikes to borrow - modern rooms Negatives ---------------- - Bathrooms do not have fans - Beds were a bit hard Overall this was a great stay so we chose 4 stars!!!

They say they want to treat normal people like rockstars...I've been treated better at a Super 8...
