This self-contained paper driven by Junhaeng Lee just came out in Frontiers. It shows that by using filtered input and output spike trains to neurons, you can train fully connected and convolutional SNNs (spiking neural networks) using backprop to the highest-ever reported accuracy for Garrick Orchard's NMIST DVS dataset.
