I was born and educated in Toronto. My elementary and secondary education was at schools in the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
When I completed high school, I went to the University of Waterloo – St. Jerome’s College University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies. Following a brief period of time working in the Comptroller Department at Bell Canada, I followed my passion for learning and successful graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Education. Soon after beginning my teaching career I began studying at Niagara University and graduated with Master of Science in Education.
As an educator for twenty-three years, I worked for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. I taught various grades at the elementary level, served as a Program Consultant, a Superintendent Designate for Special Education, a Vice-Principal, and a Principal.
As an educator I have presented to various groups of people, especially when I was a Program Consultant and Administrator. While many of these presentation where to other educators, I also presented to parents on various educational topics.
I was a guest speaker at the Canadian Principal’s Conference in 2010.
In May 2007 I bought a Williams Coffee Pub (Williams Fresh Cafe) in Oakville, Ontario and sold the business in 2010. It was during this time that I came to understand the power, both good and bad, of social networks.
Finally, I am a parent of three adult children who are very important people in my life.
