Great matchup in the Europa League: Tottenham Hotspur against Borussia Dortmund. Two very intersting matches at White Hart Lane and Signal-Iduna-Park.

If you need any information for the first leg at the Signal-Iduna-Park, have a look at http://www.germanfootballgrounds.com/clubs/dortmund/

Impression from yesterday's Regionalliga West game at the Lohrheidestadion in Bochum: SG Wattenscheid 09 - Borussia Mönchengladbach II 1:2 (1:1)

The 2. Bundesliga is back in action starting again from tomorrow, so more options again if you're visiting Germany.

A potential double header on Saturday, as Bayer Leverkusen is host to Bayern München at 18:30 CET and a couple of other games take place not too far away earlier in the day:

** 2. Liga **
13:00 Fortuna Düsseldorf - 1. FC Heidenheim @ ESPRIT arena

** Regionalliga West **
14:00 SG Wattenscheid 09 - Borussia Mönchengladbach II @ Lohrheidestadion
14:00 Borussia Dortmund II - Viktoria Köln @ Stadion Rote Erde
14:00 1. FC Köln II - Fortuna Düsseldorf II @ Franz-Kremer-Stadion
14:00 FC Kray - Sportfreunde Lotte @ Uhlenkrugstadion

It's hard to get your hands on tickets for an FC Bayern visit to Leverkusen, but yours truly has been lucky and will be at the sold-out BayArena after a visit to the Lohrheidestadion before. :)

On Sunday, you might pull off watching Karlsruhe and Hoffenheim:

13:30 Karlsruher SC - FSV Frankfurt @ Wildparkstadion (2. Bundesliga)
17:30 TSG Hoffenheim - SV Darmstadt 98 @ Rhein-Neckar-Arena (1. Bundesliga)

Apart from that, lots of non-league football on Sunday plus the usual youth football.

Enjoy your week-end!

Once again something a bit off-topic: pictures from my trip to New York City and the match New York Cosmos vs Tampa Bay Rowdies at James M. Shuart Stadium in Hempstead.

Raúl and Marcos Sennas last regular seasons career games in a nice stadium in front of a not too impressive crowd. After a more or less boring first half time at least two goals in the second half, one scored by Raúl, for a 2:0 victory of the Cosmos.

It's Euro 2016 play-offs, so no football in Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga or 3. Liga. But there are some interesting matches in lower leagues on this weekend:

* Saturday, November 14 2016: *
14:00 Alemannia Aachen - SC Verl @ Tivoli [Regionalliga West] - always a ground worth a visit, even in division 4

14:00 Borussia Dortmund II - FC Wegberg-Beeck @ Stadion Rote Erde [Regionalliga West] - Next to the impressive Signal-Iduna-Park

14:00 SpVgg Unterhaching - TSV Rain/Lech @ Alpenbauer Sportpark [Regionalliga Bayern] - fourth division but a stadium which is worth a visit

14:00 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 - Viktoria Aschaffenburg @ Willy-Sachs-Stadion [Regionalliga Bayern] - a historic ground, even though it is named after a Nazi. Plus, you can see my home town team visiting ;)

14:30 SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball - Freiburger FC @ Donaustadion [Oberliga Baden-Württemberg] - stadium with room for 20,000 spectators on the banks of the Danube

14:30 SSV Reutlingen Fußball - FC Nöttingen @ Stadion an der Kreuzeiche [Oberliga Baden-Württemberg] - probably the most asymmetric stadium you will ever visit, with only one huge stand

* Sunday, November 15 2016: *

13:15 Rot-Weiß Oberhausen - Rot-Weiss Essen @ Stadion Niederrhein [Regionalliga West] - A true derby, with the distance between both teams' home grounds less than 10 km!

14:00 SV Meppen - VfB Oldenburg @ Hänsch-Arena [Regionalliga Nord] - it's the first visiting the sixth and a nice ground in English style

14:00 Jahn Regensburg - FC Ingolstadt 04 II @ Continental Arena [Regionalliga Bayern] - visit the leaders of the fourth division in Bavaria in their new home ground

14:30 Sportfreunde Siegen - ASC 09 Dortmund @ Leimbachstadion [Oberliga Westfalen] - the Sportfreunde player here in the 2. Bundesliga, now it's 4th division, with the Sportfreunde currently in second place in the championship

* Check availabilty in advance for each game! *

Stefan "Effe" Effenberg is finally getting a manager position - at second division side Paderborn! Winner of the Champions League, Intercontinental cup, German championship (3x), German cup (2x) - he won nearly everything as a player, let's see how he will do as a manager. Are you curious as well?

Some impressions from the match 1. FSV Mainz 05 II - Stuttgarter Kickers in Mainz yesterday. After a goalless first half, the second half was really something, as Stuttgart missed a good oppurtnity which saw the stumbling keeper of Mainz barely save a ball before crossing. This was the beginning of 10 crazy minutes: three minutes saw Mainz, not having played very strongly up till then, score two goals against a hapless Stuttgart defence. Stuttgart, however, recovered quickly and took only three minutes for their two goals as well, equalising at 2:2. At the end, Stuttgart snatched all three points as a beautiful shot from Leutenecker brought the victory just minutes before the final whistle. Definitely an interesting match with a pitch in questionable shape and probably more visiting supporters from Stuttgart than home supporters - the curse of the so-called Amateurteams.
