"A perfect source would be /dev/urandom"

However your code appears not to make that it's first choice. Is there a reason for this?

The first (and often biggest) mistake that people make with bcrypt is not using a random salt. To understand why this is a major issue, we must discuss the purpose of a salt. Salts in password hashing are basically there to prevent an attacker from attacking more than one password hash at the ...

On October 26th, people from all walks of life will descend on Washington, DC to call for an end to mass NSA surveillance. Will you be there?

Scary quotes from the owner of Lavabit (a secure email service that decided to shut itself down instead of compromise it's users):

"I wish that I could legally share with you the events that led to my decision. I cannot. I feel you deserve to know what's going on - the first amendment is supposed to guarantee me the freedom to speak out in situations like this. Unfortunately, Congress has passed laws that say otherwise. As things currently stand, I cannot share my experiences over the last six weeks, even though I have twice made the appropriate requests."

"This experience has taught me one very important lesson: without congressional action or a strong judicial precedent, I would strongly recommend against anyone trusting their private data to a company with physical ties to the United States."

The Guardian published another fantastic article on this.

Having previously developed a program that could display a calendar X seconds in the past back to the Julian calendar, I really loved this video. However it seems this little rule was skipped over:

Without Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) we would have:
• No iProducts.
• No over expensive laptops.

✔ Without Dennis Ritchie (September 9, 1941 – October 9, 2011) we would have:
• No Windows.
• No Unix.
• No C.
• No Programs.
• A large setback in computing.
• No Generic-text Languages.
• We would all read in Binary.

✔ They died in the same year and the same month but it seems only few notice the death of Dennis Ritchie compared to Steve Jobs.
✔ It won't cost you anything to press the share button so spread it ! :)
