In 2015, the United States and 192 other nations came together to set ambitious, common priorities for the decades ahead. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (also known as the Global Goals), the Paris Climate Agreement, and other notable agreements represent unprecedented global commitments to investing in our collective future and achieving progress on the world’s most significant social, economic, and environmental challenges. In order to achieve these economic, social, and environmental outcomes, governments, companies, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and citizens, all have an essential role.

Join the U.S. Department of State on Wednesday July 13 at 10:30am EDT for a Google+ Hangout that will bring together representatives from these different communities to discuss the first year of implementation and opportunities and challenges to reach these ambitious targets by 2030.

Hangout Participants include:
-Heather Higginbottom, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources
-Richard Curtis, Film Writer and Director
-John McArthur, Senior Fellow at Brookings
-Shamina Singh, President of MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth

For more information on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) visit http://www.globalgoals.org/..
This Hangout On Air is hosted by U.S. Department of State. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

The 2016 summer Olympics in Brazil could make the rich richer and the poor poorer, an author says, but even so it should be a good party.
