You can actually call the UK government Met Office and get a live person to tell you the weather outside.  How cool is that in this day and age?

This video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JylcV3RFzVc places hyperbolic geometry within a process that forms the ever changing world of our everyday life. This corresponds to Einstein's Relativity in which the Euclidean geometry of our everyday life is only an approximation to hyperbolic geometry. Therefore hyperbolic geometry that in many ways is more beautiful than Euclidean geometry is also more fundamental in the nature of space and time. Because hyperbolic geometry has negative curvature with every point in hyperbolic space being a saddle point, we are going to need a dynamic process that naturally forms negative curvature in three dimensional space. This can be formed by a very simple process of spherical symmetry forming and breaking. In these images from the International Space Station we can see a candle flame in almost zero gravity takes on the form of a sphere. Light radiates out in all directions forming a sphere that is interacting with the atmosphere on the two dimensional surface of the sphere. The outer surface of the sphere has positive curvature, but relative to the radiating light of the candle flame the inner surface has the negative curvature that is needed for hyperbolic geometry. This forms a dynamic process in three dimensional space instead of a boundary circle we have a boundary sphere. The infinite nature of hyperbolic geometry can be represented on the negative curvature of the interior surface of the light sphere. In this way we have the three dimensions of our everyday life with Euclidean geometry within three dimensional space formed by one dynamic process that is based on hyperbolic geometry.

The more important reason for the Shade Balls in the LA Resevoir is that sunlight chemically combines Bromite, which occurs naturally in ground water with the Chlorine used to disinfect the water to form Bromate, a carcinogen.  The balls drastically reduce this effect.  Seems like this will be something that more public water systems look into. #ShadeBalls
XavierC LLC really has to be on the ball these days. The 18-month-old Glendora, Calif.-based manufacturer is getting ready to fill its biggest order yet for 6.4 million four-inch polyethylene balls for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADPW). Called shade balls, 80 million of the ...

I think this setback is enough to end his career as a starter in the league unfortunately.  He will be forgotten before he gets back.

Real crappy situation. This is why as a New Yorker growing up I was never a Jets fan. Crappy organization.

Reviews are true. No signature Apple customer service here. After waiting 10 minutes in a near empty store for a "Specialist" the greeter finally asked if she could take an order for me. When it wasn't in stock she just told I had to order online. I called Clarendon on the way out and immediately got what I wanted ordered over the phone and was even suggested a better and cheaper option on a refurb. Confirmation was in email before I hung up.

Men's shoes only cobbler. Run by an old man and his wife. Ong Ngoc came downstairs for my measurements from his home above the shop with a sketch pad and measuring tape. I came in with photos from what I was looking for, a burgundy monk strap with leather soles. After tracing the outline of my feet and measuring there circumference, he hand sketch from the photo I brought in the the shoe on my order receipt. They matched perfectly to the design and to the form of my feet. Leather grain is of high long lasting quality and weight. Seems like the shoes will last years. Most comfortable dress shoes I have owned. Not the cheapest in town, but of true quality that will last and is still cheaper then what you would fine in the same shoe in the west by about 50%.

Reason alone to come to Hanoi. From room, to food, to ambiance, and location...Perfect. The only short comings I would say are some drinks at the bars are suspect. Got a Cuba Libre and it was heavy on the lime juice, over blended, and tasted more like lime soda, then rum and coke. That one thing aside, everything else is flawless and worth the price of admission. You don't have the huge resorted, cookie cutter feel of the bigger 5 stars here like JW Marriot or InterContinental. This place place has history and style, 2 distict styles, one facing a colonial indochina (heritage), one facing a chic continental vibe (Opera).

Electronics, Home goods and durables like refridgerators and washing machines. Mix of big name European and Asian brands with some you never heard of thrown in. Has a lot of things to get started with if you just moved or need to conform to local electricity. Prices are not bad and purchases do come with a 30 day warranty, many places do not or have higher stipulations attached down the street farther.

Good selection of American and European groceries. Staff will find it for you if you like as the shop is small, but cavernous. They probably have it when the big name western grocery stores do not.
