Security fears used to keep businesses out of the cloud. Now, businesses fear that not being in the cloud will make them uncompetitive.

G'day everybody,

We're very excited to announce our first Workshop from the Ballarat Hackerspace. We're kicking off with a cracker too - building your very own 3D Printer.

If you have been thinking about getting into 3D printing and not sure what to buy or how to operate one then this is an ideal way to start your journey. In this workshop you'll be building an open source Prusa i3 3D Printer. "Build your own?", you say; well there are a huge number of benefits in building your own and even more when building it at your local Hackerspace.

The Workshop sessions will start on Saturday, 19 September, we only have 6 tickets (deposit amount only*) available for this round and they will close on Saturday, 1 August so we can organise all the printer kits.

There are plenty more details regarding the Workshop on our event page if you want to know more.

* Ticket price is the deposit amount only, please read the full cost details for Non-Members and Members on the event page.

Firefox bug could secretly upload your files, so update your browser now via @mashable
A Firefox exploit discovered could potentially search and upload your local files to a server in Ukraine without leaving a trace on your computer.

Smart man.
Labor MP Ed Husic has published a lengthy article arguing new legislation and industry self-regulatory measures pushed by the Government will “do little” to resolve the issue of Internet piracy, arguing the issue is a market problem and needs to be addressed by focusing on bad corporate behaviour instead.
