Gypsies Passing through Srinagar. India

Gypsies travel freely #Outside of other societies, claiming no place as their home. While processing this image, a halo appeared around the central figure resembling a religious icon. And no, it wasn't due to the photoshop dodge tool! I almost retouched it out but decided that I like the effect.

Durian, AKA, King of Asian Fruits, inspires different reactions from different people. Surely, it must have been a brave man who was the first to crack open the thick, spiky outer shell, overlook the infamous sulfury smell, and eat one of these fruits!  They can grow very large, up to 12 inches long and 6 inches in diameter, so he probably fed a brave friend as well.

While I’ll agree that the odor is a bit strong; the creamy, custard-like pale yellow fruit inside tastes sublime.  Many Thais, like my wife, say the smell makes them feel nauseous and avoid lingering in the produce section of the grocery stores this time of year.  I have to do a lot of pleading to bring one home and then I have to eat it in the confines of our storage room.

If you’re traveling in the Kingdom, be sure to try this fruit.  There are many different kinds, and each variety has its own texture and taste.  My favorite is called Mawn Tong, or Golden Pillow which is shown in the picture above.  The Thais have a belief that this fruit should not be consumed with beer, or something terrible will happen.  Based on my experience, it ain’t so!

#Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. #DreamsofIndia #thailand #PhotoOfTheDay #Goddess #Sucess #wealth @prosperity

This image shows a new style that I've been working on that's more in the area of digital art. Originally I was using this technique for a collection of portraits that we call "Dreams of India." This is a title that Fon came up with, and it stuck in our heads~I even registered the hashtag for it. More on all that later...

Mundan Ceremony

The first Shaving of Baby Hair in the Hindu culture is called the Mundan ceremony. Happily this family allowed me to watch and photograph the ceremony. I've changed my technique here a bit and let some color into the photo. I call this series "Dreams of India" but will post them tin this "faces of India collection. Do you like the effect? Cheers

Today on our blog we'll take a 180º look at Tipu Sultan's palace, a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture in Bengaluru, India. We'll also give you some background details on this controversial but innovative man. Killed a tiger with a knife and his bare hands? Was sought out by Napoleon Bonaparte for an alliance with France? Pioneer of rocket artillery? Yes! All this and more on our blog, #travel @KarnatakaWorld #IncredibleIndia http://www.giunca.com/EdWorld/2017/06/01/the-tipu-sultans-teak-palace-in-bengaluru-india-%e0%b8%a7%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%87%e0%b8%aa%e0%b8%b8%e0%b8%a5%e0%b8%95%e0%b9%88%e0%b8%b2%e0%b8%99%e0%b8%97%e0%b8%b4%e0%b8%9b%e0%b8%b9-%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%a1/
