Story
Tagline
Cartoonist/illustrator and Mac geek.
Introduction
Humorous illustrator, cartoonist & vector artist specializing in cartoon logos and cartoon character design.

My favorite cartoonists are pretty much anyone from Mad Magazine in the 70's/80s, especially Jack Davis, Mort Drucker, Sergio Aragones, Don Martin. My fave artists are Robert Williams, Alex Grey, H.R. Giger and most of the SubGenius crew.

Besides art, illustration and cartooning, I am also a huge Mac geek and Star Wars (original trilogy) nerd. I dig disc golf, cycling, photography, my iPhone 4 and Minecraft. I also play the guitar and write stoner rock songs. The funniest movie ever made is "The Jerk". The best monster movie is John Carpenter's "The Thing". My favorite music is by bands like Fu Manchu, Earthless, Colour Haze and Clutch. I also love Iron Maiden.

The room itself was decent. Clean enough. But the hallways, elevator and lobby were beat down. The parking lot was tiny and there were suspicious characters lounging in the darker corners. The place seemed a bit sketchy when I checked in late on a Saturday night, but I had no issues and the staff was friendly. The hotel is right off of a busy road, but the noise was tolerable. The breakfast was just cold cereal and toast/bagels. I've stayed at far better Quality Inns.

Good selection of outdoor gear, in particular footwear and clothing. But also hiking, camping and climbing gear. No cycling gear. Prices seem fair. Friendly staff. Clean, well-maintained place. Plenty of parking and easy to find.

A great, inexpensive place to stay. Rooms were very clean and up to date, the breakfast was hot and kept filled. The breakfast area is also quite surprisingly snazzy, a 50s modern design feel to it. Smart move, it makes you feel like you're staying at a much nicer place. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were quiet considering how close the hotel was to a busy main road.

It's not much more than a typical gravestone in a typical cemetery, but the historical significance of it will be a cool visit for fans of the film. It's easily accessed, close to the cemetery entrance, and well-maintained.

Rating is for the campground, not the park. While the campground itself is clean, well-maintained and the campground attendant I dealt with was super nice, the location, setting and style of the campground leaves much to be desired. This is a parking lot style campground, not that far from the main road. The sites have a lot of room, but zero privacy. It isn't secluded at all. It's literally just a place to camp. It's also located right next to some sort of park-run entertainment venue or event center. So there are tons of floodlights and you'll easily hear any music or people outside talking. Had I not brought earplugs, the night would have been even more aggravating. The lack of seclusion seemed to have encouraged my camp neighbors to invite local friends — who drove in and out all night, well past so-called quiet hours. You'll hear plenty of local road traffic as well. It's a city park, in the middle of main roads. If you're in need of a place to camp for the night, it's completely serviceable. There are few options in the immediate area. It's also cheap. But I had one of the more annoying nights of camping I've ever had during my stay here. I suppose it comes down to your style of camping. If you have no desire for solitude, privacy, quiet, or scenery, this might suit you fine.

A cool little independent, volunteer-run theater. I saw a film there, but they host all sorts of entertainment. Cozy, clean and well-maintained.

Clean, well-maintained store with a wide selection. Great produce section. Friendly and helpful employees. Bonus points for the bike rack!
