It's Deaf Awareness Week!

This year, Deaf Awareness Week from 15th – 21st May is celebrating the collaborative work that has made a difference to people who are deaf or have a hearing loss.

Have you ever wondered how a person that is deaf or hard of hearing would be made aware of a fire during the event? We know that this is a big concern amongst the deaf community when staying away from home.

The Agrippa pillow fire alarm is a compact and portable device with a vibrating pad that sits under the pillow of the sleeper. If the building’s fire alarm sounds, the pillow pad vibrates, high intensity LEDs flash and the alarm displays ‘FIRE’.

Wedging open fire doors with heavy objects is extremely dangerous and will not prevent the spread of smoke and toxic gases, should a fire occur.

We have a safe and legal solution if you need to hold open fire doors for accessibility or ventilation reasons. Contact us or go to www.geofire.co.uk

Holding open school fire doors is very important in busy times such as lesson changeovers. The Agrippa fire door holder can be installed in just 10 minutes to safely hold open school fire doors using an electromagnet. If the fire alarm sounds, the fire door will automatically close to prevent smoke and flames spreading quickly.

The Agrippa fire door holder is manufactured in the UK by Geofire. Find out more about where you can buy the Agrippa holder to hold open your school's fire doors.

A shocking example of a fire door being held open in a care home. This will not protect the building and it's residents in the event of a fire, as doing so will allow smoke and flames to spread rapidly.

Our range of electromagnetic fire door retainers and fire door closers provide the perfect solution to holding open heavy fire doors, whilst ensuring they will close automatically if the fire alarm sounds.

All of our products are manufactured in the UK at our factory in County Durham.
