Well that was a delightful lesson in applied physics.  A 200+ pound freshly cut section of log rolled back on me, pinning my legs.  Normally that isn't an imposing mass, but it is very hard to shift something off your legs with your arms while prone on your back and the human shin bones are relatively poor pry bars from that angle.

No serious harm done, other than my pride, just a few bruises that should be blooming soon.

If I ran into one of these while LARPing, I don't care what its "stats" were, I'd probably play it safe and run.  :-)

Some LARPs in the Atlanta, Georgia area got a nice call out in this article from the city newspaper.  It is a high-level overview aimed at folks that have little or no exposure to LARP so be kind if you choose to comment.  Nice to see some positive press on LARPing!
LARPing: It’s a silly-sounding acronym for live-action role-playing, a serious and popular hobby that you can play — or watch — in Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia.

Sent the author a more expansive list of local LARPs, and he is welcoming others to reach out, if they'd like their group mentioned.

Rough week for music venues in Atlanta?  No kidding, there goes Smith's Olde Bar, hot on the heels of The Masquerade.   Really hope this development gold rush doesn't end up remaking anything "Beltline Adjacent" into a sterilized strip of "mixed use" vacancies. :-(

After getting turned down by various specialty shops that only service ONE brand of chainsaw, Lilburn Lawn Mower came to the rescue. They cleaned and sharpened my chainsaw fast and inexpensively. Absolute rock stars of the East Atlanta real estate market. Our agent, Champ Hammond, really went above and beyond in every aspect of our purchase from early research to post-sale follow-up. Can't recommend him enough!

Do youself a favor and skip the perpetually crowded and slow Flying Biscuit at Terminus and go to Jack's New Yorker Deli. After being presented with a 40 minute wait time, I went around the corner and found Jack's. Fast, fresh, hot, delicious food with great portions and reasonable prices served by a friendly staff with ample, comfortable seating (inside and out). Breakfast all day as well as lunch/dinner options later.

Brings the potential for a decent bar to an area that desperately needs it (the suburbs / Marietta), And I'd really like to like it but there is a fine line between a cozy dive and filthy mess, and at Johnnie MacCracken it comes down to one thing... the interior is permeated with cigarette smoke and ash. Anything you eat or drink inside will taste like licking the bottom of an ashtray. If you absolutely must go there, either stay outside or be prepared to throw your clothes out and take a decontamination shower afterwards.

Severely underwhelmed... stale chips for nachos, no straws, bland food.

This location is very skimpy with the ingredients. If you ask them they will put a little bit more on, but you have to watch them each time unless you want more than literally "a few flakes" of cheese on your burrito. Additionally, they often "forget" chips in dishes that are suppose to come with them.

I had a real mixed experience here so this was a very tough review to write. On one hand, Dr. Rodriguez and his medical staff are experienced, capable and personal. I wish him only the very best and can't rate his work highly enough. He explains his procedures, explains options and is attentive to the needs and experience of his patients. I would strongly recommend him as a medical professional to anyone looking for a dentist. The office staff proved to be another matter altogether. I was misinformed about the cost of the procedure and the portion that would be covered by insurance. As a result, I got a very nasty surprise on my debit/bank statement a week later. When I inquired, they explained that they normally explain the charges but must have neglected to do so this time. To make matter worse, this office charges almost double what the same procedure would have cost at most other area practitioners I later inquired about. Very unhappy, and I recommend anyone that uses this dentist office, watch their billing/statements VERY closely in case you get a "whoops, sorry" too.
