I took and posted this video a few years ago, not knowing at the time it was a Brazilian wandering spider. Last night, I had a second brush with death when I stepped, barefoot, directly onto one of them even larger than the one in the video. Somehow it jumped out from under my foot and didn't bite me. I can still feel its prickly hairs on the undersides of my toes 8 hours later. The spider I captured an put into the freezer... the usual sentence I carry out for deadly things that enter the house.
I enjoy surfing, scuba diving, and healthy organic cooking.
I am currently CEO of Anamaya Yoga Retreat center, and live on an organic farm and eco village: Rancho Delicioso. I have websites dedicated to surfing and surf camps, yoga retreats and teacher training, scuba diving, and Costa Rica real estate.
