Taken today at Glen Echo Park... By the early 1900's Glen Echo Park had become the premier amusement park until 1968.  In 1971, after the federal government obtained the land, the National Park Service began managing the park.

We used to LOVE that place. My kids adored the carousel. And they had dances there on the weekends. Is it really closed altogether? We left NoVA in '97 ... probably missed a few things since then.
Carousel and dances still take place. The arts studios and classes still happen. Not much has changed since the late '90s and it is still kept up. Although the street car was sold and moved out and the bumper cars haven't run in quite a while.
Just finished editing a bumper car room photo.  YEah, they don't run them anymore but use the room for a dance hall now.
