Sir Terry Pratchett Succumbs To "the Embuggerance," Aged 66 http://rss.slashdot.org/~r/Slashdot/slashdot/~3/VAjjY_xGWvU/sir-terry-pratchett-succumbs-to-the-embuggerance-aged-66
Terry Pratchett has been one of my favorite authors for a long time. His first book I read was Pyramids, which I stumbled upon in the public library. Probably it was a translation. I was hooked, and on each trip to England I tried to find one of his new books that wasn't available yet in Belgium.
I've spent many hours reading and indeed rereading his novels. Making fun of the phantasy genre, or casting his very particular spell on Shakespeare, but always holding up a mirror to present day society, he wrote books you would find something new in every time.
"Science of the Discworld" is of course in a category by itself.
Pratchett will live on in his work, and in the mind of his readers.
