Story
Tagline
Software developer at ZeroTurnaround, Eigenharp, electronic music, singer, guitarist, biker, PathFinder
Introduction
I'm a passion-driven open-source developer and musician. Creativity and enthusiasm drives my life and it's present in everything that I do, from the software that I write to the music I compose, play and record.

My current number one passion is the Eigenharp, a revolutionary electronic instrument. After having played it as a musician for a year, I joined the company that makes it as a software developer and have been building out the community around the Eigenharp in my spare time. Most of my adventures can be found on the dedicated website that I run about it: EigenZone.

I actively gig with my band Flytecase and also recently revived my solo music project as G.Bevin, using the Eigenharp. Since I record, mix and produce my music myself in my home studio, I've also taken a keen interest in sound engineering.
Bragging rights
Created a revolutionary Java web framework, called RIFE. Contributed to the success of the Gentoo Linux distribution as one of the first contributors to the core system. Recorded two albums of original music, one solo, one with my band Flytecase. One of the world's first gigging Eigenharp musicians. Spoke at Java software conference all around the world. Received the title of official Oracle Java Champion for my open-source contributions to the community.

Close-up picture from my impro gig setup of last night. Very nicely compact and stable. Two iPads played through the Eigenharp with iConnectMIDI4+ streaming all the audio back to the computer and then out to speakers and the Tau's headphone output.

This definitely goes under the "d'oh why didn't I think of that" category!

A quick demo of the musical experiments that I've been doing with the Myo from +Thalmic Labs. Note that this is very early work in progress and uses an alpha version of the device.

+Geert Bevin i was just watching a video on ThalmicLabs channel and he was tapping the ends of his fingers so maybe there is some sort of finger detection? maybe not spacial detection just basic. even just being able to tap the tips of your fingers would be great for stuff like triggering samples or muting and unmuting different channels when looping.

cant wait for this to come out either way. leap motion is good but i dont like have having to be stuck in one place just to control stuff so this will be right up my alley

Starting my first trip as an incognito Eigenharp player today towards Devoxx France. Just a regular bass guitar gig bag, but inside sits the Eigenharp Tau with everything required to hook it up!
Hoping this will work out well, since it's what I planned to use for going to Moogfest in Asheville next week.

This is an interesting experimental music live performance with GECO and SuperCollider using the +Leap Motion

You're supposed to watch as well as listen at the same time. I particularly enjoyed how Konstantinos creates different sound universes for himself and explores them during  the performance. Finding the limits, the interactions, the boundaries. If in the future there would be a Leap Motion controller with a much larger range, it's obvious that a gesture controlled sound/dance performance piece could be very compelling.

+António Machado I think he switches mappings, sounds and universes with foot pedals.

Very exciting that +Moogfest is only two weeks away. On Sunday I'll be giving a talk on Mobile Synthesis and Future Forward Controllers. If you're in Asheville, let me know!
